The Folder tree (the organization of Folders and Projects visible in the left-hand Navigation panel) allows you to add structure to your Workspace. Your Folder structure should
- Be intuitive. Make it easy for your team members to know where to find or add information.
- Include the basics. Every team is unique, but there are some basic Folders that most teams should add: an Archive Folder (for information that is no longer immediately relevant), a Templates Folder (for processes that are repeated often).
- Be scalable. It doesn’t have to be perfect, and your Folder structure is by no means set in stone, but aim to make something that can grow with you as your team or client base grows.
Below are tips and suggestions for how to create your Folder structure, but don’t worry about making things absolutely perfect the first time. Remember, you can always go back and change things later on.
Step 1: Brainstorm
Think about the information that will go in Wrike and what processes/projects you’ll want to use Wrike with. Next, think about a structure that makes the most sense for your processes and team. Some ways to organize your Folder structure include by: department, team, project, and/or location.
Step 2: Create
Begin adding your Folders. You can check out our help article for detailed instructions on how to create Folders. You can even use Folder Permissions to limit who can do what on specific Folders. Eventually you may want to color code your Folders to make navigating even easier.
Step 3: Share
Below are some basic structures that work for different teams. Add, remove, and rearrange the Folders to meet your needs.
Quick Tip! If you’re on an Enterprise account, check out our Selective Sharing help page for step by step instructions on how to setup your Folder structure using Selective Sharing.
