Changing a Subtask's Parent Task

Table 249. Availability - Legacy plans

Overview

There are a couple of ways to change a subtask's parent task.

Change parent task from List view

  1. Navigate to the folder, project, or space where the task is located and switch to List view.

  2. Click the subtask and drag it over to the task that's supposed to become its new parent task. The new parent task is highlighted light blue.

  3. Release your mouse.

Your subtask now lives in the task you moved it to and no longer exists in the original parent task.

Important

List view is not available on accounts created on June 9, 2023, or after this date. We suggest using the Table view instead.

Change parent task from Table view

  1. Navigate to the folder, project, or space where the task is located and switch to Table view.

  2. Locate the subtask in the table, click the dots icon to the left of the subtask name and drag it over to the task that's supposed to become its new parent task.

  3. Release your mouse.

Tip

You can do the same on the table portion of Gantt Chart.
