[Status: Launched ๐] Hide Completed and Cancelled Projects in List and Table Views
I know there is a way to hide completed and cancelled projects in the folder view by clicking on the filter icon and un-checking the appropriate boxes however there is no way to filter these out in the List and Table views where tasks are worked on.
Is there a way this can be included in future releases where the filter would have the completed and cancelled projects filtered out from the view but allow them to be viewed by changing the filter?
Is this already on the road map and how long will it be before this is released?
I second the request to have a way to filter projects by status, not just tasks, in the table views.
In addition, it would be very helpful if in all these views there was more consistency in how they work, which fields are available, and (it would be extra-super-awesome) if filters were maintained when navigating from one view to another, then back.
I totally agree with persistent views among all folders, projects, and tasks.ย
Hi all, sorry if I misunderstand your request but I think this has since been solved.
Just confirming that filtering by Status is available in List and Gantt View.
Can someone let me know if this request has been satisfied so I can close it for further comments?

It looks great to me! I am part of the custom project status beta and don't know if that's making any difference, though.
Upvote. I am still seeing completed/cancelled projects in list and table views, and I do not see any way to hide them. The filter in the left navigation works, but the list/table views doesn't appear to offer any filter that affects which projects are displayed.
Hi everyone! This is still being investigated; I'll get back to you in Q1 2020 and hopefully I'll be able to provide details then.ย

As a team manager (who has more projects and less tasks) I would really value this feature!!!
ย
Best I can tell, if you are using "Project Workflow" the filter does not seem to apply or respect settings.
If you use "Default workflow" it appears to behave.
Can anyone validate?
ย
Disregard...just tasks under a project...*sigh*
Hi everyone! I'm really happy to let you know that Project Filters in Table View have been implemented! Thank you for all of your feedback and comments ๐
As for List View, this is still being investigated. I would recommend commenting use cases for List View having this filter. It really helps our Product team when they're having these conversations about implementing features.
Our team has been wanting this feature for quite awhile. It's encouraging that it's been implemented in Table View, but seems nonsensical it's not in List View as well. List view is our team's preferred view, but our Creative Directors and Art Directors often need to do a quick scan of our Spaces and Folders to make sure nothing is falling through the cracks. Having Completed Projects show up in the List View adds clutter and prevents us from knowing quickly what actually needs to be done. Being able to hide Completed Projects AND Tasks would be super helpful. Currently, this gap in user experience is preventing us from actually utilizing Projects. We're afraid if we start creating Projects in a typical workflow, our Spaces and Folders will quickly become unusable. Thanks!
I second this wholeheartedly. ย Like Ian Fraiser, we prefer to use List view as our goto view, one reason is that you can see the tasks on the left while looking at details when the pane opens on the right. ย Table view has the most details, but itโs too reminiscent of a spreadsheet for us to look at it during meetings, etc. and get good use (itโs a great view though for individual build out and planning by PMโs). ย
In my case we are on the verge of moving out of Wrike for the limitations in List and Board views, because they have been so hard to work with. ย Any functionality in Table View Iโd like to see in List view. ย So filtering completed Projects would be great. ย I would add that showing even duration of Projects in this view, like you can already see for tasks, is very useful. ย One huge benefit of Wrike over other systems is the ability to have sub projects which roll up to a โparent.โ ย This allows for true Portfolio reporting, but in a much simpler implementation than more complex systems like ServiceNow, etc. ย If you could see the dates of sub projects, it would be easy to see the โpathโ of worth in the list view on a larger initiative that consists of several projects under one larger โumbrellaโ projectย
Hey everyone, thank you for all of your feedback here, it's been passed on to the Product team.
I don't have an update for you at the moment in regards to this suggestion. As soon as I do, I'll let you know.
Hi!
Can anyone tell me if this filter on active projects is also foresee in the gantt chart view? For now, it only works in the table and board view.
Thanks!
So I see that we now have the ability to filter projects as well as tasks, but the problem I'm seeing is that they do not work together. If I am looking to see ONLY active tasks and the projects/folders they are within, I cannot choose to filter by project status because that filter disregards tasks entirely. I think that I may speak for a lot of people here when I say that what would be ideal is a way to simply hide completed or deferred projects from the table or list view in the same way that we can currently choose to hide empty folders OR a way to filter results by a combination of project and task status (e.g. "All active tasks within active projects"). Right now, there's just no way to see only active tasks without also seeing the full list of completed projects that are kind of getting in the way.ย
Is this what others are experiencing as well here?ย
Hi Matt Leese
I think the idea is quite what I proposed here: https://help.wrike.com/hc/fr/community/posts/360047725074-Filter-active-tasks-and-also-active-projects
You want to do something different than me in this post but technically it should work the same: we want the filters to combine projects and tasks. In my post, my problem was that when I filter on "active task and active projects", I don't see active tasks outside active projects anymore.
This was my solution to hide those "completed projects" in table view but my tasks outside projects disappeared as well.
I think these two subjects are quite connected.
Matt Leese: That is exactly the issue indeed.ย
If you filter active tasks I would only want to see the projects that has active tasks not all projects.
I don't see the usecase for showing projects without any active tasks at the time.ย
Gregory Missiaen: I agree, I don't really see much use in displaying active projects butย not the active tasks within them. It feels unintuitive for such a very intuitive platform like Wrike.ย
Diandra Di Dio: You are quite right about that! Yes, I think we essentially want the same thing here. I have gone ahead and upvoted your proposal as well in hopes that the Wrike team considers everything that we've stated together.
Thank you for your feedback here, everyone! Please rest assured I'll pass it on to the team!

Yeah, this is messed up.ย I'm sure it's a side effect, but it needs to be fixed.ย I have a completed project listed with active tasks outside of it.ย The table view lists them together if choosing active tasks or just projects in taking out completed projects, it takes out all the active tasks not related....VERY frustrating!
Thank you for your feedback Richard Herzog, I'm passing it on to the team now!ย

is there an update for implementing filtering options with in list view that does not show completed tasks? my team uses this view the most and our lists are getting quite lengthy.ย
Hi Amber Scherzer, thank you for checking in! This suggestion is still being researched by our Product team. We'll be sure to let you know when there are any updates ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
Any updates on this? Seems it's been a couple of years since the initial request for this, and I totally agree that this should be possible.
Can't see the use case were it's useful to see projects in List View that are completed or cancelled when using the "All Active Tasks" filter.
Welcome to the forums Lars Gunnar Bergstad ๐ With the functionality that the team is working on currently, this suggestion will become possible in Wrike. It takes some time to release it, but we'll let you know as soon as we have an update.
If there's anything else I can help you with, please let me know ๐

Hi! Needed this functionality "yesterday"? Canยดt be that hard to acccomplish in List view..... Still in status "Investigating".ย
Hi Robin Westergren, welcome to the Community, and thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. As my colleague Lisa mentioned above, the team is working on functionality that will enable hiding completed and canceled projects.
We'll be sure to share the news when we have an update from the team ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
Thank you for the update on this, Lisa and Cansu!
