Filter active tasks and also active projects

Hi,

I discovered how to filter in table view by "active projects". Now, I've created a filter to hide my completed projects from the table view.

But, when I configure the filter to show all active projects and all active tasks, I only see active projects. All apart tasks are hidden (see screenshots below). I have to see completed projects to be able to see active tasks.

Is there a way to make Wrike understand that he must show at the same time my active tasks and projects?

Thanks for your help!

Hi!

Just wanted to suggest something to you. I find it easier to create a custom Widget to track all active projects and tasks. You can customize it to show all active tasks, tasks to do, overdue tasks etc.

Just start at the top of the workspace under "Dashboards" & click "Create New Widget" from there you choose your project & check the "Include tasks from Subfolders" box to show all your tasks. You can then apply the filters you want. Here is a link for more about this. Hope it helps 😀

Thank you for the post! It currently is not possible to view active tasks within a completed project when the "All active projects" filter is enabled. However, Brittany Archuleta's suggestion is an excellent workaround for this and should provide you with the view you're looking for. Thank you, Brittany!

Hi Brittany and Hugh,

Thank you both for your answers :)

I tried the dashboard but there are so many tasks in our projects and folders that without the tree structure of the space next to it, it's difficult for me to find my way around. I really like the structure the 'table view' gives me.

However, I don't want to see active tasks in completed projects, I only think my filter doesn't work correctly. I'm sorry if my questions wasn't clear :)

In the first screenshot, I applied 2 filters: active projects and active tasks (you don't see this second filter on the screenshot but it's selected). But Wrike only shows me active projects. All tasks beneath the projects you see in screenshot 2 aren't shown.

In screenshot 2, I removed the filter "active projects" and only kept "active tasks". What I see is all active tasks, including completed projects (with no active tasks inside).

For what I see, Wrike doesn't apply two filters at the same time because "active projects" and "active tasks" result in my view in only "active projects and no active tasks outside projects".

Do you think this could be a bug? Other members of my team have the same problem.

Thank you for helping me! :)

Hey Diandra Di Dio, thank you for providing more clarification here!

When you apply multiple filters in a view in Wrike, all of their conditions have to be met to appear in the view. When you filter to show all active projects, it hides all of the tasks outside of projects in the space, as they do not have an active project attached to them that would meet the conditions of the filter. This is why these tasks have been disappearing for you in Table View.

Hope this answers your question! If you need anything else, let me know.

Hi @..., thank you, I understand better the functionalities of the filters now.

Do you think this is an issue we could add to the 'Product feedback', to be able to filter on the basis of 2 conditions if the project/task only meets one?

Thanks for your advice!

I think it would be a great idea to move this to Product Feedback! This way, other Community members can provide their suggestions, and the Product team will be use this post in their conversations about the product roadmap. I've moved this to the Product Feedback section for you now.

Any update on this?

This is a must-have for our team! We have users that are assigned both projects and tasks and only being able to filter by active projects or active tasks is a pain. We use table view for a quick glace with managers so that they can see all of the active projects & tasks, the status, and the due dates. If we filter using active projects, all tasks show. If we filter using active tasks, completed projects show. If I use both filters, nothing shows. This is a pitfall in the reports as well. We have to have multiple reports just to show all the items that the team is working on because reports can either be based on projects or tasks, but we can't show both.
