[From Wrike's Product Team] Interviews: Fixed Fee, Retainers and Billing
Hi everyone! 🙂
My name is Alina, I am a Product Manager at Wrike.
First, a big thank you to everyone here who’s been providing us with your feedback on the Community! Some of you also helped us beta test rates for users and job roles, and are also helping us understand how we can improve capacity planning in Wrike. Thank you for your useful feedback and insights!
We are planning next improvements for Wrike’s Budgeting. Currently, we’re looking into the possibility of introducing fixed fee and retainer projects to our Wrike for Professional Services. Besides that, we generally want to learn what is lacking for you right now to track your finances smoothly.
If you’re using Wrike for Professional Services and find this topic relevant to your organization’s budgeting processes, I’d love to interview you to discuss your use-cases to better plan our future work.
So if you run fixed fee or retailer projects or just feel like some financial features are lacking to make your process the most efficient, please let me know here in the comments or submit a request form. I’ll contact you for a quick chat.
Thank you for helping Wrike improve!

Great to hear that these functions are on the roadmap. We have both fixed fee and retainer in our workload but I am also quite new to Wrike so I am not sure exactly how I would like it to work all the way but might have some ideas.
Hello Alina, the submit a request form link in this page does not work! I am also interested in participating in this quick interview...
Thank you, Anders Kilbrandt!

Hi There we have the budgeting function because we are a Professional Services user. The problem we have is that it doesn't automatically work for exist projects. We have 1,500 existing projects so it is too big a job to go into each one to turn on the function. I would have thought that there would be a way to bulk update the function to existing projects?
Hey John,
Thanks for reaching out. We don't have a solution for this currently but we definitely have this in our backlog. The good news is that newly created projects don't require turning on the function.

It would be great to have a graphic at the top of a project to understand where we are in terms of our fee burn versus our actual progress, without divulging actual financial data, so that the team is aware if we are at risk!
Hi there, did anything end up happening with this information? I can see from other requests in the Wrike community that the ability to track and report on retainer hours is a mighty need among project managers.
Hi Felicia Jarvis! This development is currently on pause, but our team keeps it on their radar for future research.
