[Use Case Marathon] Week 4 - Product Launch in Wrike ๐
Hello Community ๐ค
Itโs Wednesday, and it means itโs time for the next use case marathon post!
We hope that this weekโs topic - Managing a new Product Launch - is an interesting one for many of you.
Managing a New Product Launch
Start by creating a product launch plan. Create stages and tasks. Then, map out your launch with timelines. You can also make communication clearer with status updates, provide feedback on product mock-ups, use checklists, and report on progress.
Real-life example:
You are an educational service provider getting ready for a new online course launch. You need to plan it so that everyone on your team knows whoโs doing what and when to ensure your team meets their deadlines. You also need to map post-launch activities.ย
What functionality is being used:
- List View
- Board View
- Gantt Chart
- Dashboard
- Custom Fields
- Reports
Are you using Wrike to plan product launches? If yes, how do you approach this?ย
Or, if you donโt, would you like to learn more about how this could benefit you and your team? Let us know in the comments below!

Aside from our Client Launches that we support - we also use a standard Wrike Roll out plan for new offices and groups that are being onboarded into our Account.ย We have checklist of steps - such as identifying key champions teams, or basic functionality, communications strategies and plan and break out into task that folks will own in their specific roll out plan!
ย
So many options for managing any type of project/product work!
Good topic! My team doesn't deal with launches directly so it doesn't apply to me, but good information!
When we manage deployments we too have a phased approach with milestones to reach before moving to the next phase. We have several tasks that need to be completed before the milestone can be passed.
I think onboarding would be the closest thing I manage to this.ย
Since there aren't as many steps/tasks (under 30), I have the project in just a project. There are five phases, I have the tasks numbered 1-5, dated in that same order and also ordered by priority (eliminates anyone needing to view the project not understanding the timeline).ย
I've also created a workflow specific to on/offboarding so I can create custom automation reminders for those projects.ย
Thanks a lot for sharing here, everyone! ๐ค

Iโm new to using Wrike so learning as much as I can!
We have a specific request form and project blueprint for new product launch and take a hybrid project approach.
We (an education service provider actually lol) do use wrike for product launches and release planning meetings for cross-functional teams, which all feeds into reporting for senior leadership. Working on expanding my knowledge to make this process even more smooth and replicable for each new product!
Interesting - we don't tend to have an whole company project launch in Wrike - each functional area runs their own project based on their part of the launch.
Thanks for commenting and sharing your thoughts here! if you're an account admin, I'd recommend taking a look at the pre-built template called "Product Launches" available through Wrike Assistant:

Good topic! Our department doesn't deal with launches directly so it doesn't apply to us, but I will definitely share this information with the departments that do!
Great to hear this might be helpful to your teams Jordan Crismanย ๐

I created an custom workflow for developing (hardware) products in our audio-engineering department. It includes all stages from snapping an idea to development, testing and deployment.
Thanks for sharing Florian Kislich, great example for custom workflow use ๐
