[From Wrike] Go Lightspeed Webinar Q&A ⚡️

Hi everyone 👋

We have recently held a webinar on all things Wrike Lightspeed, where our VP of Product Alexey Korotich spoke about our new functionality and updated interface. Big thanks to everyone who joined and asked questions! 🙌

Today, we’d like to cover some of the most popular questions we heard from you. And if you’d like to watch the recording, you can check it out here.

Wrike Lightspeed Q&A

What is Wrike Lightspeed?

It is our newly updated platform that helps you do your best work. Its concept is based on three core principles -  ease of use, customisability, and scalability. It includes various innovations and design improvements like the new and updated views, updated look & feel, custom item types, and much more.

How do I access Wrike Lightspeed?

All the elements are being rolled out in phases, and more exciting enhancements are coming this year. In the meanwhile, you can already enable many of them in Wrike Labs (e.g. new Table View, new Board View, new sidebar and toolbar), and in the app (Work Item View). Some of the updates have been released to everyone already (new look & feel, custom item types), and some of them are coming in the coming weeks and months.

Please note that depending on account type, or registration date, you may already have some of the features (e.g. new Table View) in your account as default. If you’re not sure which functionality you have, please reach out to your Wrike representatives or to our Support team.

Where do I find Wrike Labs?

Wrike Labs can be accessed by clicking on this link or from your Wrike Assistant. You can find it by clicking on the ‘?’ button in the upper-right corner of your workspace:

On which plans is Wrke Lightspeed available?

Many of the enhanced views are available on all types of accounts (e.g. new Table View, new Board View). Others are only available on certain types of accounts (e.g. custom item types).

Is Wrike Lightspeed different from our current Wrike workspace?

Wrike Lightspeed is your Wrike workspace plus improved views and new capabilities, as well as design enhancements. It’s a combination of what you love about Wrike, some improved functionality, as well as brand new additions like calendar view, custom item types, custom user types, external requester communication, and many more.

Is Wrike Lightspeed at an additional price?

There’s no additional price, and the updates are available depending on the account type (e.g. custom item types are available to accounts on Business plans and up).

Is Wrike Lightspeed going to be released to everyone? If so, when?

That’s the plan! Our team aims to release all planned enhancements to all Wrike customers in 2023.

Will new views have the same functionality as current ones?

Wrike Lightspeed will have capability parity for the majority of user scenarios plus new features and views that will cover even more use cases you may have.

When are new Dashboards going to be released?

The plan is to release new Dashboards this year. We will continue to update you on any changes and enhancements.

Will the switching to Wrike Lightspeed be mandatory over time?

As we mentioned above, the plan is to release Wrike Lightspeed to all Wrike customers this year. This will not happen before we reach capability parity for the majority of user scenarios.

Is the Dark Mode going to be included in the Wrike Lightspeed release?

Yes! Our team is currently working on this solution, and we will let you know once it’s available!

We hope this info is helpful to you! Please let us know if you have any questions below 👇

Why are you doing that?

Wrike has a good UI for projectmanagement (ok some things could be with less clicks). It has some other very seriouse problems like missing material ressources (other tools are offering). Why not working on the important things?

Also you are generating so much costs for all your customers by changing the GUI. We trained all users on Wrike and using it. When you change the GUI how many time will each user loss to addept the new GUI? One hour, two hours? With 2000 users you talk about 4000hours with 100€/hour (engineering department). What is the benefit? I do not see it. We were happy that we fixed our workflow and the daily work last year and now users have to addapt again?

The external communication is a good start, but the step is not finished as it only works via request forms and not for every user (that would be a game changer as mail would be completly excluded from projects).

Also you say you want capability parity for the majority of user scenarios. So it means some capabilities will be lost.

I've been enjoying the new functionality through the labs area. Very excited to see the final product and how the team uses it to capture that dark matter.

I tried using the new UI for the homepage but my pinned projects are no longer visible on the homepage?  In the old UI they were in a pinned section as well as the sidebar.  Am I missing something or is that not a feature anymore?

Also keep in mind that from a project there is no easy access to Home. I have to now open the side bar and in my case it defaults way down the list of clients within our space and I have to hit jump to top, then Home - a lot of extra clicks versus the old version where you just clicked the home.

Hi Danielle Wilson, welcome to the Community 👋

The new Home page previously available in Wrike Labs has been discontinued. You can access your pinned items in the left-side menu:

Thank you for sharing your feedback on it, we'll pass it on to our Product team 👍

Where do you mark a task as done? I can't find it for some reason.

Hi Angela Raykovich, you can click on the status and change it to the "Completed" status:

Your list of statuses can be different because there are custom workflows that different teams create in their accounts or spaces.

Lisa - is the single select complete (without having to open the dropdown) gone across the board in Lightspeed? I noticed it first on CITs but with the Work Item View update to all items, it seems like we'll have to click the status then scroll down the list of statuses to select complete for everything now.

Please bring back the checkbox to mark items complete. In our workflow the complete selection is at the bottom of a very long list and having a simple check box was incredibly useful.

Yes please!  And one step better would be to remember the last status it was. If we accidentally click an "in Progress" status as completed, then uncheck the box, it goes back to TO DO (first in our list, but not the last status the task was designated).

I saw that you could mark a task done via the workflow status,  but a single checkbox is a much easier user experience. I ended up turning off Lightspeed because of this issue.
