Wrike's Outlook Add-In
We know how important the Outlook add-in is to so many of your workflows (just check out the forums!) and we’re very excited to tell you that the new version of the add-in is available now.
All the details about how the new add-in works are on the Outlook Help Center page, but here are a few details.
What can you expect?
With the add-in you can
- Edit Wrike tasks, which you’ve received an email notification about or which you’ve created from the add-in, directly in Outlook.
- Convert emails into new Wrike tasks.
- Add an email’s body text as a comment to a Wrike task.
- See both the original email and the Wrike task side-by-side (the add-in doesn’t take over the original email anymore).
Anything Else?
The add-in
- Is available for all user types (including Collaborators) and all account types.
- Is more stable and faster than before.
- Is compatible with only Microsoft emails (we’d love it to work with more email types, but this is a restriction on Microsoft's side).
- Is not just for Windows desktop anymore. It’s available where you work - Windows, Mac, web browsers, iOS, and Android.
More improvements are coming, so let us know what you think and share your feedback with us.
Help
Hi Roy! I can see you chatted to the Support Team about this too. Let me know if any further questions come up, I'm here to help!
Will the Outlook add-in be enhanced to pick up the assigned workflow of a particular folder/project you add an email as a task to? Now it defaults to the first available workflow and doesn't change once a folder/project is added.
@Donna Hello! That isn't on the planned roadmap at the moment, but the Product Feedback section is a great place to let the Product Team that you're looking for that type of functionality.
Can someone let me know how I can change the default Wrike account/profile used for the Outlook add-in. It seems that once it's selected and you sign in, there is no way later to change it. One of the Outlook instances on a laptop is pointing to my personal profile and not the one I need to use.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the add-in and that did not work.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Hi Len Smith, happy to see you on the Community! I'm going to raise a Support ticket for you now, and our agents will be able to advise.

I have raised a support ticket for my issue but Wrike is unable to identify to me if the Wrike Outlook Web add-in should be functional with Safari/Big Sur on an M1 Mac. For me, when using Outlook web the Wrike add in does not load appropriately and cannot be used. Does anyone else have this issue? Not being able to use this workflow means my new business computer doesn't do what I need it to do, and, using another browser is a half baked work around. I would like to simply things.
I have tried all of Wrikes' troubleshooting here. Has anyone else encountered this?
