๐Ÿ’Œ Releases - New Customization for Request Forms, Custom Fields enhancements, and More! (3/11/2024)

Feature Updates

  • Request Forms - Customize Post-Submission Emails for Better Communication! ๐Ÿ”ฅย
We're thrilled to announce the update about post-submission emails that many of you were waiting for! Now, you can configure the 'thank you' email for each external request form individually, creating a more customized and personal experience.
ย
With this update, you can create unique email confirmations that apply for every form independently, aligning with the specific form submitted.
ย
You can find this option in the request form settings dialog, where both the existing and new forms can be edited to create or edit a โ€˜thank youโ€™ email. Please note that this setup applies only to external request forms ๐Ÿ“Œ

  • Custom Fields - Unveiling Custom Fields for Users in Wrike Labs ๐Ÿ‘ฅ
We're excited to introduce the new Custom fields for users feature in Wrike Labs, available on Business plans and up. This feature allows you to create user fields with specified values that the system will use to automatically provide you with suggestions - in the assignee picker field -, allowing you to instantly see which users match the requirements.
ย
Hereโ€™s what you need to know about how to manage Custom fields for users:
  • You can create custom fields within the Users tab under Account Management, accessible only to account admins. Access the Fields section and then click on the + Custom field to create a new one. Once created, you can add values to the field per user.

ย

  • Custom field values can be used as an assignee requirement to identify suitable assignees and can also be shared with certain individuals or groups.
  • Existing task fields can be converted to user fields in Account Management > Custom fields. You would only need to open the field settings (by clicking on the field) and check the box Use this field for users.ย
  • Assignee Picker Preferences are customizable and can be saved.ย
  • Apart from Table view, Board view, and Workload, you can also make use of these fields in request forms and other tools and views where custom fields are supported.
You can read all the details about this release in our Community post.
ย
Note: this feature is subject to change and its functionality and availability - regarding plans and users - may be modified in the future.
  • New Dashboards - New Design Tab For Additional Customization! ๐ŸŽจ
We continue to add functionalities to New Dashboards! With the new Design tab you can customize your data even more ๐Ÿ“Š When creating a widget, once you have selected one of the available charts, you will see this new option. For existing widgets, you can simply click on their three-dot menu and select Edit to access this section.
Once youโ€™ve opened the Design tab, you will be able to adjust how you wish to display the data of your chart:
  • You can sort your data by Value (from largest to smallest or vice versa):

ย

ย ย In case you donโ€™t want to see the Other column in your chart, you can select the All values option:
ย
ย ย
  • With the Alphabet option, you can change the sorting to alphanumerical and specific if it should be from A-Z or Z-A:
  • The Field order allows you to display your data following the intrinsic order of your workflow or custom fields values:
ย
  • Lastly, you can change the position of the legend that indicates the data youโ€™re reporting on. By accessing the Legend position option, this information can now be located at the top, bottom, right, left, or even hidden (โ€œNoneโ€).

The Design tab is a wonderful addition! I already updated one of my dashboards to get rid of the "Other" option to show all. What a game changer!

I need users to be able to add skills to their own profiles, and ideally anyone to be able to add skills to anyone's profile. Most common use case is that a project manager on a project needs to make sure his team is set up with a correct work schedule, skills in Wrike, and they won't be a platform admin to get access to the admin console. They might be a space admin, but that's it.

Julia Berzoy, thank you for sharing your feedback! Our team is currently developing a feature that will allow all users to update fields in their own profiles. We'll keep you posted once it's done.

Also, if I may, I'd like to suggest a potential alternative to allow project managers to update the skills of others. It's now possible to restrict admin permissions granularly. In this case, I would recommend making those managers account admins, but allowing only the "Custom fields for users" permissions - please refer to the attached screenshot. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this!

This functionality is very good, however, a specific functionality that is highly requested, which is to make the fields mandatory, has not yet been implemented. Looking forward to this implementation, as these are features that all competitors have except Wrike.

Maria Dudko, unfortunately, not all admin roles are represented on that list and can be "checked off". For example, any admin is able to clear the trash bin. I believe they could also manage space templates. We unfortunately had to discontinue promoting users to admins due to accidental changes in areas they didn't know would impact everyone within the account.

RE: "We're excited to introduce the new Custom fields for usersย feature inย Wrike Labs..."

This is super useful! It would be even more useful if there is a secret API Method for users custom fields that you are willing to share (not seeing anything here).ย

We'd like to store some user manager details here, rather than a lookup table, for project notifications.ย
