๐ Releases - Item View Compact Mode Implemented, and New Search Hotkeys Added (10/16/2023)
Feature Updates
ย
๐ Item View - Top Fields Compact View on Scroll
ย
We've refined how the top fields are displayed in the Item view during scrolling. Now, as you scroll down, they convert into a compact display mode, letting you view more underlying information. This compact view rolls out automatically when scrolling.

๐ Search - Hotkeys Added
ย
Expediting your navigation within Wrike, we've introduced hotkeys for search. This usability tweak means you can initiate and use it without browsing in the Sidebar. For Mac users, the hotkey is Cmd+K, and for Windows users, it's Ctrl+K.
ย
The CMD/CTRL + K shortcut is displayed next to the search bar and is included in the tooltip linked to the search function. Pressing CMD/CTRL + K shortcut will open the search modal.
ย
๐ Live editor - New Insert Link Command
ย
This update affects Item View and the Stream section: you can highlight text and press CMD/CTRL+V to insert a link instantly. To open the link editor, you can use the command SHIFT + CMD/CTRL + K.
ย
Please, feel free to let us know in the comments below if you have any questions ๐
not sure I follow using cmd+k (which is insert link in almost every app) for search (which is often cmd+f), and then using cmd+v (paste - universally) for insert link? Why not just use cmmd+f for search, and leave the other near universally standard key commands alone?ย
I'm going to second Will Kerr's comment. Please make the keyboard shortcuts align with other standards.ย
I will third that. I thought maybe there was a Ctrl+F (windows) for something else but just verified that there isn't.
Here's a fourth. I have already hit CMD-K a bunch of times wondering why the search is popping up. ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
Fifth: Windows ctrl+k standard please, I'm making links in so many programs, it's a real frustration to remember Wrike has non-standard keyboard shortcuts in addition to the blinding white screen thanks to lack of dark mode. It's a bit laughable window swapping into Wrike being slapped with blinding white screen and then slapped with a search instead of a standard insert link shortcut that only changed recently. Funny scene if it didn't hurt so much physically and mentally. If ctrl shift k isn't a good option for searching through internal links, what about ctrl shift F for search Wrike for internal link since ctrl F is standard for searching a page? Adding shift to that could make more sense to search Wrike instead of the page. Just really want the external link shortcut to be standard, I don't care what shortcut you use for internal links, I'll learn that if I want to search instead of grab directly.
1) Thanks for adding the compact item view on scroll! Love these little quality of life enhancements.
2) I agree with everyone else that diverging from the universal hot keys isn't a good user experience. Ctrl + K is probably my third used hot key (after Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V). If at all possible to implement, these are the hot keys I suggest that should make everyone happy:
I know this is probably easier said than done due to some backend architecture we're not privy to. There's always more to the story. :)ย
Agree with the comments above to align commands to standard key shortcuts - ex CMD-F (for search) etc!
Hi everyone, thank you very much for your feedback! I have shared your comments about the search commands with our dedicated team.
Will Kerr, may I please ask you to create a separate Product Feedback post about this suggestion?ย
Once the post has been created, please Mike Fank Shelly Erickson Richard Bitgood Micah Hart Daisy Hibbard Sherrie Besecker feel free to add your vote ๐

Thank you Will Kerr, we've already sent it to the responsible Product team.ย

I totally agree with prefering CRTL + F. I guess, that this could be problematic with the built-in browser short-cut.
Means the web-app either overrides the browser short cut or needs another short cut. The letter K is not necessarily the logical joice.
ย Would be easier if the search just would be more prominent again and in the usal place (right corner).
ย
Agreed with everyone on the shortcuts! Additionally, CTRL+Shift+K is now "Insert Link". In Edge and Chrome this shortcut is used to duplicate a tab, which I frequently did when updating my projects, as I could move to another folder/project/task, without loosing my current position. (e.g., when cross-referencing an update).
Also, the Compact Mode sometimes leads to the Item View having a corrupted display, which only resovles after a page refresh. Am I the only one or has someone else already reported this?
Ralph Hirle I have this display issue with non-complete views especially with search results und list views. The most annoying problem with the view for me is, that I cannot create sub elements till I do a refresh.
Hi Petra Hauer Ralph Hirle, thank you very much for your comments, I've shared them with our Product Team ๐
Ralph, may I please ask you to share a screenshot of your view so we can better understand the issue you are experiencing?
Thank you!
useless feature, WE WANT DARK MODE! REAL DARK MODE!
Hi Jon Patrick Gutierrez, we mentioned in several threads that the dark mode should be released till the end of the year. We appreciate your patience.ย
