[From Wrike] New Release - User Types ๐
Hello Community! ๐ค
Today, we are very happy to introduce the latest release by Wrikeโs team - User Types ๐ฅ
This newest addition to Wrikeโs functionality allows you to set abilities and limitations for users across your account and is available on Enterprise plans.ย
What are User Types?
Customizable User Types allow Account owners and Account admins with the correct permission enabled to set up what users can and canโt do in your Wrike account. User Types that are currently available in Wrike - account owner, account admin, regular user, external user, collaborator - couldnโt be customized before this release. Now, it has become possible.ย
Do you want to forbid collaborators to change statuses? Or allow external users to share tasks and folders? With User Types, itโs all just one click away.
User Types / Admin Permissions / Access Roles - Whatโs the Difference?ย
The next important question to ask is about the difference between specific admin permissions, access roles, and user types.
Admin Permissions are set up for each admin. Account owners can restrict some account admins from configuring security and other settings.
Access Roles have to do with the permissions to access certain items in Wrike. With them enabled, account owners can have a Read-Only access role for some folders, while a regular user can have a Full access role to the same folder.
User Types are the types of users with allowed or prohibited actions that you can now customize ๐
Editable Categories
Account owners and admins with specific permission enabled can make changes to default user licenses via Profile picture > Settings > User Types.ย
Once you open the User Types tab, you will see two sets of customizable permissions: Full license (includes admins, regular users, and external users) and Limited license (includes collaborators).ย
Customizable permissions for Full license include such categories as sharing, interacting with folders, projects, tasks, calendars, reports, and more.
Limited license customizable permissions include interacting with tasks, subtasks, and reports, as well as some collaboration permissions such as working with files and the ability to comment in task, project, and folder streams.ย
To enable or disable a permission for a specific user type, just switch the toggle button ๐
There is more exciting news around customizable user types to come in the following months, so keep an eye out for further announcements on the Community ๐

Such a pity those nice features (like access roles) are not available for standard business accounts
I will let the team know about your feedback,ย Florian Kislich.

We integrate Wrike into our other business process via the API. Does this change the values exposed there as well? Currently even with anย admin account we can only make 1 change to User Type.
