Hi Jared, I think I understand what you're looking to do here but would it be possible to get a little more information? Perhaps an example or use case on how this would be useful. This helps our Product Team better understand what this would look like when reviewing suggestions.

Thank you for posting 🙂

Agreed!

Use Case: I have my dashboard setup with three widgets. One displays my tasks (we'll call this widget A), the second displays my team member's tasks (B), and the third displays unpaid invoice tasks (C). I am responsible for unpaid invoices, however, I want to keep those tasks separate from my other to do's. The issue comes in when I assign myself to the invoice tasks the tasks then appear in both (A) and (C) widgets.

There are a couple solutions I could see as useful:

1. Ability to exclude multiple folders and/or projects from a custom widget.

2. Ability to specify multiple folders and/or projects to include in a widget (i.e. then I could essentially choose all folders except my invoice folder when configuring widget A and only choose the invoice folder in the configuration of widget C).

3. Ability to include/exclude data in a widget based on a custom field. For example, I'd like to put a custom field on my tasks to separate "to do's" from "appointments" from "invoices" etc. That would be ideal as then I could have a separate widget for each type of task. This is important to me as I regularly need to perform each type of task within my projects, but the execution and thought process to complete the tasks really varies by type.

Hi!

I wish to make a dashboard in which I can filter my widgets based on tags, is this possible? if so, how? Thanks!

@Dani, that's perfectly understood now, thank you! I wonder, as a workaround solution, could you add a Custom Fields to help exclude the invoice tasks from your other tasks when creating the widget.

For example, create a checkbox Custom Field named 'Invoice Task' and only check the box when it's an invoice task. Then, when creating your to-do widget, filter by Custom Fields and 'Invoice Tasks' as 'not checked'. This should filter out the invoice tasks. Why not give it a go and let me know how you get on 👍 The below Gif might help 😊

Hi Federico, thank you for posting 🙌  It would be great to get a brief use-case too. Just so I can better understand what exactly what you're looking to do here before providing feedback. Thank you!

Our organization would also really like to see more options for selecting/deselecting folders and projects in a widget.

Our use case would be similar to Dani's. We have one folder with tasks that are specifically for client support tickets, and we don't want those showing up in the rest of our "to-do" widgets, although we want our widgets to include all other folders and projects.

I found a good work around for this using custom workflows - since our customer support tickets use a different workflow than everything else, we changed our "to-do" widgets to only show tasks with the Default Workflow - Active status. Then we can make separate widgets for the support ticket tasks using those workflow statuses.

We could really use this feature as well, i.e. exclude folders/tags in widgets.

Use Case, we prioritize using a custom field as suggested in the agile/wrike webinar.  We have various widgets showing backlog tasks filtered by priority, we like to drag them into a new widget as we process them. The new widget adds a tag/folder, "processed".  If we could exclude items with the tag/folder "processed" from the widgets we dragged from, the item would be removed from those source widgets as we process them.  We can't use status for this as we use status for capturing other information.

@Stephen. Your suggestion somewhat worked for me. However, trying to drag tasks between widgets that are filtered by the custom field doesn't work. (widget gives "Widget filters do not match this task's properties.") So in order to move the status of the task, the task needs to be opened in a table view somewhere and changed. This takes multiple clicks, where changing by folder you are able to drag and drop tasks between widgets.

@John Burt, I just created a post about that. I figure it's enough different from the original topic here to warrant it's own post. (And I've wanted it for a while myself.)

Being able to exclude folders from the dashboard would clean up a lot of task clutter, and make it so I wouldn't have to create so many extra dashboards.

Hello,

Could you please combine the other tasks related to this? I found a handful, but I am sure you're able to comb faster than I am?

Thank you in advance.

Warm regards,
Ginger

Lisa Is there any update on this feature? It is still something that I believe we can't do.
