Enhanced Support for Projects (List, Board, Table & Timeline Views)
Most of the work we do at a leadership level is at the project level. Prioritizing projects, sequencing projects, reporting status on projects. Unfortunately Projects don't appear to be "first class citizens" in Wrike. Because of this, there are a couple critical enhancements I'd like to request:
- Projects in List View: Currently when looking at our "Roadmap" folder we can only see tasks, not projects. The ability to show just Projects would allow us to do a lot of things, primarily drag & drop rank/priority.
- Projects in Board View: It would be very useful to see the list of our primary projects sorted by their status in Board View. Currently we can only see tasks in this view.
- Priority/Sort in Table View: Currently there is no way to see this priority of projects in Table View. If the "Rank" from #1 above was available as a field in Table View that would be ideal. If not, please fix the 'Sort by Custom Field' feature (We've created a custom field for "Rank", however when clicking on that column header to sort by rank this does not actually change the sorting.) Another ways to accomplish this would be allowing drag/drop in table view.
- Open Project from Timeline View: Currently only tasks have an icon to be opened directly from Timeline view. When collapsed, it would be great to open a project by clicking on the project name/icon.
- Project Dependencies: Allow Projects to be dependent on other Projects or tasks (specifically from Timeline View)
Thanks for your consideration, these features are pretty critical for us expanding across our 6,000 employee organization.
Hi Corey, thank you for posting this on the Community! I definitely see how those enhancements would streamline the workflow you have, and it makes sense to have more ways of working on the Project level in that case. There have been internal discussions around some of the aspects you've mentioned here, and I'll make sure to show these suggestions to the corresponding Product teams, since the feedback posted here helps keep those conversations going. I really appreciate how you've structured this request and the points you've included here. Happy to hear any other ideas/suggestions, as well as help with any questions about the functionality!
I would also like to see projects treated more like tasks than folders. Also would be great to have more metrics from the project's tasks roll up to the project view.
Hi Wrike Team,
I absolutely support the ask in this original ticket, specifically the features associated with visualizing projects in Board View. With the recent addition of Wrike spaces and custom workflows it seems all the more pertinent to have a project treated as a 'task like' object v. folder in the overall hierarchy for the same reasons originally listed by Corey.
I very much like his thoughts about being able to see a 'high level' progress overview of projects in the parent 'space' directory along side tasks that may not be associated or included in the scope of an overall project. This allows a high-level in breadth view of things to realign prioritization and desired outcomes.
Please make this happen in the near future! Feel free to reach out to me for additional details on the request. I think this feature update would have far reaching applicability to other Wrike users.
Regards,
Aaron
Supporting this request. It is a basic need for project management at the leadership level & has been asked for since 2017, 5 years ago. Why has this not been implemented? This seems like a basic function for the use of custom & multiple workflows.
Hi Tasia Judd, welcome to the Community 👋

I'd like to also support this feature request. We definitely could benefit from Board Views for projects to see in a friendly manner where our projects stand in our stage-gate pipeline.
The PM tools we come from had this option and was very much used in all our management meetings. We migrated to Wrike a year ago, and we are terribly missing this view for projects. Please consider it seriously, since it will add tremendous value for us.
Jorge Verastegui Welcome to the forums 👋
The team doesn't currently have it in their plans to introduce Board view for projects, but we continue to monitor interest for this enhancement, so please also upvote this post if you haven't yet.
Here's a post explaining how we work with Product feedback, hope it's helpful!

Absolutely support this request. As a new user of Wrike - it is an immediate concern and miss when trying to manage multiple projects and report on them. As I continue to learn the nuances of Wrike - I hope the workarounds are able to get me what I need, and bring me to similar comfort levels I had with past PM tools.
Thank you for supporting here and welcome to the forums Albert Messina!

I just want to post on here to show more support for this ticket!!!
Hi Jonah Brooks, thank you for bumping this thread and adding your support here!
Hi all,
Here we have some of the same needs. Additionally, it would be great to have the feature to select a space or multiple spaces/folders and just show all unique projects from those locations without the expandable folder structure (preferrably in a Table View). We cross-tag a lot of projects to multiple folders and spaces to facilitate easy access for smaller teams or subjects, but for high level prioritization we always have to go through the same project on multiple locations to discuss. Having a column showing the tags of a project would additionally facilitate keeping the overview, similar to this thread:

Thanks!
Thank you for chiming in here Iline Steyaert, passing on your feedback to our team 👍
Adding my support to this! Project's have status just as tasks do and having a board view to organize them, (I know you can kind of do this in dashboards but they don't yet support custom field viewing) would be SUPER helpful. So either adding custom fields to the dashboards or add projects to the board view would solve the problem. I hope this becomes a thing soon. Its like the one constant request from my team because I'm trying to ease them out of a onenote situation where they can see all their comments at once.....
Hi Rachel Fugate, could you please explain your use case a little bit more? May I ask if you have tried using the new table view?
I agree that it would be helpful to see Projects in the Board view. This has been a problem time and again for me over nearly 3 years.
Thank you for sharing your feedback Christa O'Rear! Although this suggestion is not currently planned, I'd still recommend supporting a similar Product Feedback thread here.

I just had a call with my Wrike representative today to share this very same feedback on projects vs tasking. Then as I find myself researching this topic further in this community, I see that it was requested back in 2017 - That's discouraging.
We are primarily project focused but Wrike functionality seems to be very task focused - all of the items that Cory has listed in the original post are challenges that we have as well with Wrike.
I have voted and hope to see this functionality be improved upon so that we can view projects high level.
Thank you!
Hello Christy Duncan, thank you for upvoting this suggestion. I understand that these enhancements would be important to you and your team. We will keep you informed of any future changes.
I'd like to support this feature request. We need also this in our organization!
Thank you for supporting it Desiree Ligtas 🙌 Please don't forget to upvote the original post here too if you haven't yet 🙂
