[New to Wrike] Wrike Calendars are now available ๐ฅ
[16/08/2018] Note from Wrike Team: No longer in Labs - now fully released!
Thanks to everyone who provided feedback on this - you can still provide further feedback forย future enhancement over here.
ย
We've been playing around with them internally and they may or may not have overtaken Dashboards as my favorite feature!
Team Calendar(s)
- Calendar type: Smartย
- Calendar name: [Team Name]
- Include tasks from: the Folder(s)/Project(s) where your team's tasks are located.ย
- Filtersย
- Status: Active and Completedย
- Assignee: Specify team members if you frequently have tasks in this Folder which are assigned to people who aren't on your immediate team (and if you don't want to see those tasks).
- Task Type: Check milestone if all of your release tasks are milestones.
- Task Duration to display: Full duration (this will let you better monitor workload and when things are going to be worked on).ย
- Calendar type: Classic
- Calendar name: Tasks to Monitor (feel free to mix-it-up).
- Task Duration to display: Use "full duration" if you want to see when something is scheduled for or "end date" if you only want to see when something is due.
- Calendar type: Smartย
- Calendar name: Release/Eventย Calendar (this is just a suggestion folks).
- Include tasks from the Folder/Project where your release/eventย tasks are stored (check "Include tasks from Subfolders" if release tasks also live in Subfolders).
- Filtersย
- Status: Active and Completedย
- Task Type: Check milestone if all of your release/eventsย tasks are milestones.
- Task Duration to display: End date (this should be the date that the feature is actually released).ย
Is there a trick to making custom fields available for filtering? I've selected a folder with a few custom fields, and I'd like to be able to display only tasks with a checkbox in a particular custom field. The calendar settings doesn't seem to be recognizing that there are custom fields available.
So excited! Ready to jump right into this feature. Thanks for listening Wrike!
@Gregg Right now Custom Fields aren't available for filtering but the team is working on it! We know how important this is and definitely want to make it available to you.ย
@Shelly Can't wait for you to test it out!
Are we able to color code by project/task? For instance, I'm creating a calendar for our EMAIL folder and I would like to color code specific tasks so at a glance I can see tasks that are in design, in copy or in stakeholder review. Especially since I have the full duration set. With all the tasks highlighted inย the same colorย it's more challenging to understand what's happening that day/week/month. TIA
This is a game changer!!!! I'm so excited to play.ย
@Jessica Kim - You can have things show "status color". and you can create custom statuses for "In Design" "In Copy" "In Review" with custom colors.ย
@lauren - just saw that!! Thank you!
Ooo liking it!ย
ย
It would be great if there was a way to toggle on or off the weekend dates though as these make it look at a quick glance like we have no jobs for the back end of the week when they're actually just going over a weekend.
This is not yet available in my Wrike Labs, can we have it added? Thanks! โบ๏ธ
It would be great if OOO's, time offs, holidays, etc, added into the account schedule (via account management), could also show up on the new Wrike calendars - that way it's integrated with all of our tasks
I initially put this on the community board, but thought this would be a good place as well

Help! It's empty!ย Both the online app and the Desktop app!ย Love this new feature, worked great yesterday.ย
Re: my issue above!! Wrike's AWESOME support team sent me this:ย
1) Hard refresh your browser (ctrl+F5 on a PC or cmd+R on a Mac): http://refreshyourcache.com/en/cache/
2) Log into your account using Incognito/Private mode http://www.wikihow.com/Activate-Incognito-Mode
3) Update your current browser and test in another browser
4) Clear your application Cache in Chrome (if this is the browser you use) by removing all the Wrike-related items when you paste the following link into a new browser tab: chrome://appcache-internals/
#4 worked for me for both the online and local app.ย
Once again, Wrike shows how much they love their customers.ย Thank you Natalia P
Any issue following Marjorie's update please let me know guys ๐
I see another update today! instead of a drop down to select your calendar, you now have a check box ability! I have 10 calendars already!
ย
I would love to try out this new feature, however I do not see the option to turn it on in Labs.ย Did I miss a step somewhere?
@Majorie! That's awesome! Do you share those with your team or just for you?
@Rob I know are Support Team answered this question, but putting the answer here in case anyone else is experiencing the same thing: Calendars are available on Business and Enterprise accounts.ย
@Stephanie - i share most of the calendars with my teams. We are tracking so much, that it is great to be able to see just one calendar or add a few others to see them all at once.ย
@Thread You can nowย use Custom Fields on smart Calendars!! ๐๐๐ This is still beta, so quick note: if you share a Calendar with someone, and they don't have access to the Custom Fields the Calendar is based on, then they won't see those tasks on the Calendar. So, for now, make sure your Custom Fields are shared with the right people if you want them to see tasks on your Calendar.ย
Would anyone care to share some screenshots of their calendars? My admin hasn't turned this on yet. ๐ย I'm trying to make a case for it.
Hi David - sure!
Here's some - let me know if there's anything in particular you'd like to see ๐
Just saw that custom fields can now be used for filtering! This is great, truly a critical feature for how we want to use these, and allows us to highlight key dates without too much clutter.
ย
Thanks for adding that feature so quickly!
Great to hear Gregg! Thanks for all the feedback ๐
Why isn't calendars available in all licenses of Wrike? You would think a calendar is a requirement for a planning application.
Hi all, quick update here:
You can now createย Project Based Smart Calendars. This means you can create a Calendar to see Projects/Folders. Take a look below and if you have any questions, let me know ๐
Thank you all for the continued feedback on this Labs feature ๐
And the reason such a basic feature is not available in all plans is .....?
Love the idea of a project calendar. I saw you can filter with Custom Fields. But is there any way for custom fields that have a "date" to be displayed on the calendar.ย
We have projects for every Movie we do work on (that's 100+) and a there are two key dates we would like to have a calendar for. Release Date and On-Sale Date. Neitherย of those makes sense as a "Start" or "End" date.ย
The current workaround is to have an individual task for each in a custom status that we can then filter, however, it would be much easier to be able to display custom field dates instead.ย
This has been working well for our team!ย
Suggestion: Remember preferences. Show by status color and work on weekends are the two toggles that I keep needing to turn back on. It seems like that should be built in on the calendar preferences instead of toggling on and off each time I view the calendar.
Overall great addition!
Some of this may have been mentioned by others.ย We like the dashboards a lot!ย They show a ton of information in a very concise manner.ย The calendars show everything in calendar view, but lack almost any of the detail you get from dashboards.ย At minimum, they really should show the parent folder/project.ย It would be amazing if you could see details when you hover such as the full name of the task (it already does this), who its assigned to, start date, due date, duration, etc.ย You can see all of this when you click, but being able to hover lets you get a quick glance without having to open and close the tasks.ย Looks like a great start!
I have 2 requests:ย
I have a lot of people who need to be able to see the Smart Calendars, but who do not need to see the project details inside Wrike. They are not Wrike users; Instead they are consumers of the information on the calendars.
I appreciate how updates are being made so frequently to the software. I hope that these 2 can be added soon. Thanks!
Thanks Pamela. We actually have this specific feedback post here. I'll bring this to the attention of the Product Team but it might be worth re-posting it there too for when they're reviewing the comments (I can't move it from here).
Thanks!
Loveย the calendar feature, but wondering if this will be available on the mobile app soon? We will be using this for scheduling installations and will need our off-site crew and other remote team members to be able to access and view the calendars from their phones and ipads.
Thanks!
