Moving E-Mail content Outlook correctly formatted into wrike task

Hello,

since the outlook add-in is history...there is really no way to quickly move information from outlook into wrike without losing the original formatting.

wrike is using some kind of ugly table etc. as a result it does not like the mail I need to see in the context of my task.

I know there a workaround, but are taking to much time and/or dont' have the result I need.

Until wrike comes up with a new Outlook add-in I need a way to move the mail content into the system:

easy

fast

same format and visuals

Any idea?

Hi Jörn! Currently, the description fields don't fully support the email HTML format - this is why the content looks slightly different when you send something from an email to Wrike. Right now we adjust content to be viewed in supported elements, for example as a table. Unfortunately, there isn't any way (currently) to keep the format and visuals exactly the same when forwarding an email to Wrike.  I appreciate your feedback on this, it's very helpful to understand the different use cases and formatting styles people encounter, and I've passed your input to our Developers Team.

I know you're aware of the workaround but I want to mention it here in case others aren't aware. To make the email look as close as possible to the original, you can send it into Wrike in plain text format.

Hi Anastasia,

your right, I'm aware of the workaround... but it's "working around the solution" and not solving the problem...

Your Blog is talking about the GTD idea which i.e. includes Inbox to Zero... how can I do that quick and effective(!) with wrike if get this forwarding-tables-solution OR before you-forward--convert-to-text-solution only?

This is not a good status for this area of a workflow.

I'm wondering about the outlook add-on that could solve the problem? It's gone since six months...nothing

new on the list?

You can not develop wrike as a somewhat isolated tool in this business world!

Standard mail programs like Outlook 2016 and before, Apple Mail etc. really need easy interfaces to wrike so that your customer is able to work in wrike AND sync/share/import information from external emails received easy & effective.

I know you have many other things on the list...but this is so basic and important for me, that I don't understand why we see this poor status.

I'm really disappointed with the tool at this point.

Hi Jörn, I understand that you are looking for a solution and not workarounds. I've relayed the importance of the Outlook add-in to our Product Managers as well as escalated this internally.

I agree with Jorn on the need for an Outlook add-in.  Please give us an update on the progress of getting an Outlook add-in back into the Wrike world. I saw where the downloadable was discontinued in June 2016 (I think it was).  Our organization is an Outlook dependent group and getting them to pull away totally from Outlook is going to be a challenge.  The add-in might have been a way to get a more robust user buy-in.  Thanks!

Hi Dru,

thanks for supporting that!  I believe wrike is a great tool, but collaboration with one of the most used tools in the business world... Outlook... is really not exisiting.

No info or news on the roadmap. ...

When I create a meeting for my team, I also need a matching task in wrike so that they can easy book there time on that task.

Today I have to create the task in wrike, go back to Outlook and then create the appointment.

This is not smart at all.

Hi Dru and Jörn, thank you for your comments here! I'm checking in with our Product Team on this. While I don't have an exact timeframe to share, this is something we're discussing a lot internally, and the thoughts and ideas you share here are really helpful when it comes to understanding how different tools fit into your workflows, and how add-ins and integrations could help with these processes.
