Custom Dashboard Widgets
Wrike Dashboards include a set of easy to use pre-built widgets to help you stay on top of your tasks. Sometimes, though, some more personalization is required. Do you frequently open the List View and set up same filters countless times? Read on to learn how to save these filtered lists as Dashboard widgets and how to use them.
Create a Personal Widget:
- Open a Folder or Project in the List View. Quick Tip: To create a widget with all tasks from your account, click “Projects” in the left-hand navigation panel, then navigate to the List View.
- Choose to show or hide tasks from descending Subfolders or Subprojects.
- Click the “Filters” icon and apply all of the appropriate filters. Quick Tip: click on “Advanced Filters” for more filtering options.
- Click the three-dot menu and choose “Add to Dashboard”. Select the Dashboard you would like to add your widget to, give it a name, and that’s it!
Did You Know?
- Tasks in the widget you create have the same sorting option you selected in List View.
- You can share Dashboards with your team members. To do this, open the Dashboard and click the “+” in the top right corner.
Ideas for Custom Widgets
Create widgets for:
- Tasks assigned to certain team members, or to all of your team members.
- Tasks due within a certain time frame.
- Tasks based on status.
- Tasks from a private Folder to track your personal to-do list.
Would love to hear your ideas for when to create custom widgets!
I made a dashboard with every day of the week. I can duplicate them, but cannot change the filter settings of each widget. If that would be made possible, I can easily adjust them every week withour removing all the widgets, do the filtering again, add them again to the dashboard with the desired name.
I would like to include a Workload view in a dashboard, displaying the workload for the current week or month. Is this something possible?
@Chielant Hi! Thanks for the screenshot, those are always great. It looks like you want to see which tasks you have scheduled for the upcoming week. In terms of Dashboard widgets you're correct, once you create a widget, you're unable to edit the filter settings. We recently launched a Product Feedback section on the community, it's a great place to make suggestions like this regarding features you'd like to see added/enhanced in Wrike. I do want to quickly mention the Timeline View. That view was built to help you visualize how your tasks are scheduled, and might work for you in this case. Let me know what you think!
@Eric Hello :) There's currently no option for creating a widget from the Workload View. We do have the Product Feedback section on the community where you could make this suggestion, but I was wondering if you could tell me a little more about your use case for this? Would you like to compare data from the Workload View to other information on a Dashboard?
Hi, I've got a question about the custom widgets.
When they have been given a name, is it possible to change it or am I forced to delete it and create another with the good name ?
Hi Alexandre, thanks for posting your question here! Currently it isn't possible to edit widgets, so a new one needs to be created. I wanted to mention that there's an existing feature request for this, and it would be great if you could add your vote to support it there: Add a Possibility to Edit Widget. Let me know if you have any other questions, I'll be happy to help :)
