Analytics View questions
I've configured an Analytics view for a folder in a workspace so that it is very useful for viewing tasks for a particular team in that particular workspace.
Then, I went to another workspace and attempted to configure an analytics view for a different team. So, for example, I've selected users from the second workspace.
Changing the settings for the view in the second workspace also changed the settings for the analytics view in the first workspace. Why is this? This behavior doesn't seem very useful!
Also, I noticed that the Analytics view is called "Analytics View (Old)". Is there a new one?!?
I'm also finding I can't filter users by GROUP, only username. This makes it difficult when new employees come or go from the team- the views need to be modified each time. Is there no way to filter by group?
Hi Timothy Livingston, thank you for posting! Yes, our team is working on a brand new Analytics View and we will be sharing more information on it as we get more updates from the team.
Regarding your question about filtering, on the current view, it's not possible to filter by groups only by users. Could you please explain a bit more about configuring an analytics view for a different team?
Hi Cansu,
Thanks for responding so quickly. Our division consists of about 6 smaller sub-teams. When we view our project portfolio, the manager or lead of each subteam would like to view statistics on their team members assigned tasks (their team's scope of work). If the hardware team is viewing the stats, we'd like to be able to filter by the hardware team assignees. If the software team's manager is viewing the analytics, we'd like to be able to view only the software team's stats. For this reason, filtering by GROUP rather than by individual USERS would make administration much simpler since people come and go from teams.
Currently with the analytic view, if you filter to show a subset of assignees, that subset is reflected no matter what context we are viewing in- every workspace, every folder gets the same filter applied.
Conflict monitor would be a fantastic tool except that it shows all conflicts from all spaces/folders/projects no matter the viewing context. This means the list is far to big to be digestible by any project manager or team manager. This being the case, we find it to not be useful when it could/should be extremely useful.
I very much look forward to the new analytics view. For similar reasons, I would also like to be able to assign an analytics report to a workspace as we can currently do with a standard report/dashboard/workload... a feature which seems to be lacking at the moment?
Hi Timothy Livingston, thank you for getting back to me and providing in-detail feedback on the Analytics View, I'm passing it on to the team.
To be on the same page, I would just like to highlight that the Analytics reports and Analytics view are different features in Wrike. Analytics View is designed as an additional view that provides task-related data in easy-to-digest infographics. Whereas the analytics boards, Wrike Analyze, are much more versatile and used to demonstrate and cluster data in your account.
It is possible to add the Analytics View to a space/folder/project and adjust what's displayed on the charts but it's mainly focused on tracking progress.
