Can I make a custom "text" field an automation in the request form?

In the request form I can get a custom field to work using a drop down, however I haven't been able to using a "text" custom field.

When we ask the team a required question about there budget # for the print project they'd like completed, we'd like to not only make it required (that I can do), but also be an automation in our custom fields section at the top of the project. So it they manually type it into the brief, but once brief is submitted it auto populates in the creative brief, not as a field in the brief but as a custom field.

Is that possible? If not, do you have any other recommendations?

We can't use a drop down for the budget as there was way to many budget numbers in our accounting system to have someone scroll through it to choose one. It's easier to type it in. However when we put it as only a question in the creative brief, they always side step it, even if it's required. It's one of the pieces of information that we always receive last and we're trying to remedy that.

Much appreciated, thank you.

Hi Aimee Reistad 😊 It should be possible to map short answer and paragraph types of questions to text-type custom fields. So the idea here is that certain types of questions can be mapped to certain types of custom fields. You can check all mapping options here.

Does this help?

Lisa Thank you so much for this resource. I thought that as well, however it doesn't seem to be working for some reason. I've double-checked my custom field is in the space I've created for the test from, as well as the folder the project is in, and the custom field is allowed to be used by everyone on all tasks and projects. Hi Aimee Reistad, happy to help you out with this. What you need to do is choose a location where the task will be placed upon request submission and make sure that the custom field you want to map to an answer is applied to a corresponding folder/project into which the task from the request form will be placed. I have noticed that the "Place task into" field is empty in your request form, that's why Wrike doesn't know where to pull info from. Please select the space in question where the custom field is added. This should help! 😉

@...Thank you so much for your help. I went in today to test this and somehow everything is working the way that it should. I didn't change anything but bam it's working, so I'm going to say maybe something wasn't done loading or I don't know, but so happy it's working now. Thanks again.
