How can I be notified when a milestone is compromised?
I'm a Project Manager and my biggest concern of all is to achieve the milestones on time. (I believe we all here have this goal, and that's why we are using Wrike ๐)
That said, I would like to understand how can I be notified when a delay is compromising the achievement of that milestone on time. As a Project Owner, or Assignee of the milestone, I want to be notified when there's a conflict in my project or milestones.
Each project gets its own life and many tasks get their duration and finish date changed during the development of the project, which sometimes jeopardizes the milestones, and no one is aware of it.ย
I see there's a Dashboard called "Conflits Monitor" which shows all milestones in this critical situation that requires immediate actions to solve this problem. Unfortunately, even that dashboard can't be edited, so it shows all the conflicts in all the projects, including the ones I'm not managing, so this tool becomes useless in our case.ย
Since the system already understands the conflict and identifies what milestones are in this critical situation, is there any way to notify the Project Owner or the Assignee of the Milestone or the Assignee of the Predecessor task that is causing the conflict?ย
(there's a virtual cake for those who help us with this request ๐ฐ)
Hello There,ย
If I understand the question correctly.
One way I think you could handle this notification, could be to set up an automation that as a due date (on a task/project) is within a certain range of time (you set), it could change the task status. By having the status changed, the assigned person could receive a notification of the change and/or have a dashboard created to see when any project is in this status you assign it to.ย
I love Kyrstanโs suggestion and would love to try it myself. I wonder if there is a way to automate dual tagging compromised tasks or milestones into a specified folder as well, if certain conditions are met?
Hi Cheryl Venable, I believe we can use automation for this and create a rule as in the image.ย
Please let me know if this helps๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
I have the same request and these solutions don't quite address that.
I use dependencies with milestones so that when the preceding task is delayed beyond the milestone due date, it pops up on the conflicts monitor. However, I would love to increase the visibility of this. It would be great to receive a notification or email each time a conflict occurs, even better if the software could notify the scheduler that they are creating a conflict. I realize there are some visual cues, but I feel like they often get lost in the noise.
Hi Elizabeth Bevels, thank you for chiming in here and for sharing your use case. I'll pass it on to the team๐๐ผ
