Wrike calendar pulling in unwanted subtask end dates

I have calendars set up for our emails that we're sending, but when I set my calendar to pull in the live date for our emails, it's pulling in subtasks tasks dates, too. It looks like we're sending 50 emails a week instead of only 2 or 3. How do I get the calendar to hide the subtasks and only show the End date for the parent task?

Right now I have the calendar set to "Classic" and I am manually adding the emails to my calendar, which is not ideal. We have so many emails a month across multiple teams, I'm afraid I'm going to miss something.

Hello Brittany Stringer, thanks for reaching out!

Unfortunately, Smart Calendar Layers pull up subtasks by default, and there's no way to exclude them.

Here one can think of two workarounds: using a Classic Calendar Layer instead, as you've mentioned it, or you can also create a Custom Field (type "Checkbox"), mark the checkboxes for the relevant tasks, and make sure the Calendar Layer settings are set to include such tasks (Layer settings - "Add Custom Field").
Please note that in order to filter by a specific Custom Field, this field should be applied to the Folder (i.e. seen in the Folder) selected as the source for your Calendar ("Include tasks from" section).

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the workaround.  One would think that a filtering option to include or exclude subtasks from calendars would be useful to many.

Hi
It is a shame that you cannot filter out the subtask. I want to do reports with the calendar for my managers and they dont really care about the subtask. Any plans to add this funcionality?

Agree that it would be very helpful to be able to include or exclude subtasks on calendars as appropriate for that team or use-case. Big upvote from me for the Wrike Product Team! :-)

Upvoted this! I don't understand we can't filter out subtasks from a calendar. This seems like it should be a basic function.

Big upvote from us as well! Would be extremely helpful to be able to filter subtasks from the calendar view.

Upvoting for our team as well! I'm running into this issue where we would like to track the main tasks under a large, year long project, but it will be too cluttered if showing all of the subtasks as well. Hoping in the future there will be an option to exclude subtasks.
Separate comment related to the calendar - and maybe this isn't the right place, but is it crazy you can't share an internal link to a specific calendar, to point the team to the right place? I can create an external permalink, but really just want to link to the calendar internally within Wrike but instead have to keep describing to our team how to navigate to it. Internal Wrike links to calendars and reports would be amazing, I can create a separate post about that.

Thanks for your feedback Heather McCoy!

You can share calendars and reports with users, and they'll get an Inbox notification and open them from Inbox. Can this help?

Hi there - I was wondering if there's been any more progress on this feedback? I don't see a reason to need subtasks in calendars and it's hindering the use of them when we try to look at our e-mail calendar as it's not as accurate. I have upvoted this and the workarounds suggested above don't make sense for the work I'm doing. Would love to see this implemented and the ability to omit subtasks from smart layer calendar view.
