From any status to Canceled and vice versa

Hello wrike community,

I have a problem in wrike and if it is possible to be solved, it will make things a lot simpler and will save a lot of time in managing tasks and projects.

When I drag and drop a task from any status to Canceled, I get a message if I also want to set to Canceled all the subtasks of this task, VERY useful.
Is there a way if I do the opposite action, from Canceled to any other status, to get the same option to also change the status of the subtasks? Can't make it happen till now.

Very often, due to our processes, just completing the main task is enough, but when I export and edit the results in excel for reporting and useful insights, I see the main tasks Completed, but the subtasks in different status. This makes my life harder and I have to do a lot of manual edits which in the end is impossible.

Is there a way in current version of wrike to activate this feature? If no, could this be added as an update in the very very very near future?

Thanks,

Nikos

Hi Nikos V, and welcome to the Community!

It currently isn't possible to change the statuses of subtasks in this way. If you'd like, I can move this post to the Product Feedback section? This way, other Community members will be able to show their support for this suggestion, and the feedback will be passed on to the Product team.

Hi Hugh and thanks for the welcoming,

I think it is a good idea to move it to Product Feedback since what I asked is not possible to be done.

Please do so 😎.

Hello everyone,

I don't know if other users have this issue, but I am losing a lot of time when I move main tasks to another status, because I also have to manually set their subtasks to that status.

ONLY if I set from any status to Canceled, I get the message to also set the subtasks to Canceled. But when I create a new project, I have a lot of tasks to set to In Progress and a lot of subtasks to manually set In Progress.

Since wrike has this functionality from any status to Canceled, would it be so difficult to copy this feature to apply FROM any status TO any status?

Regards,

Nikos

Hi Nikos V! Have you checked out Wrike's Automation Engine yet? It will soon be possible to automatically change children's statuses when the status of a parent's task is changed:

Hi Liza,

Thanks for the update but unfortunately I won't be able to use it since it will only be available for the Business and Enterprise subscriptions.

For the moment I will keep clicking manually one by one all the subtasks.

Regards,
