[Status: Backburner ⌛️] Approvals showing up in Dashboards, Reports, My to-do
Hi there,
We love the new Approvals and how they integrate into the workflow! There is one issue though that is deflating the experience: Approvals don't show up in Dashboards, Reports or My to-do.
When I am assigned as an Approver for a task, I only get an E-mail Notification and it shows up in my inbox.
When some-one gets a lot of approvals assigned to them, or an approval is scheduled a bit in advance, it gets lost in the Inbox really easy. We use Dashboards to keep our teams on-task, and because Approvals don't show up on the dashboards, they tend to slip through the cracks - exactly the opposite of what we want Wrike to do for us!
It would be great if they could show up in as a minimum the Dashboards so we can track who's doing what & when.
Thanks,
Jaco
Supporting this feature as it would become a key component to our work space on Wrike. Thank you!
Thank you for this feedback folks, I'm passing it on to the team now!
We'll let you know if we have any updates here 👍

Thank you for your feedback here, folks! I've reached out to the team to see if there's an update, and for now, there isn't one. They might be able to start the research for this suggestion later in the year, and we'll let you know if we have any news in the future 👍

Hi Lisa,
I've already commented on this previously. Clearly, I'm not the only one who feels that without "Approvals" appearing in the person's "To-Do" list like a task then (at least for us) the feature creates more problems than it solves.
I am on the verge of abandoning approvals with Wrike altogether. I'm finding infrequent users are simply frustrated (as am I) by not being able to find what they need to approve. As a result, using Wrike for approvals simply isn't working.
I'm also having to spend a lot of time chasing approvers and asking why they haven't yet approved it. The answer I get is, "I can't find what I need to approve" This is creating resistance from users with the approvals process and frustration which is now spilling more generally to "Wrike" as a tool, which is perceived as difficult and not easy to find what you need, which we know isn't the case for the most part other than this "Approvals" feature.
I really do hope that some solution can be found to improve the approvals process or we will be abandoning it as a useful feature to prevent the wider spread frustrations of some who only use approvals.
Hi Gary Williams, hope you don't mind me jumping in for Lisa. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts in detail. We do appreciate your candid feedback, and I'll be sharing it with our Product team.
Conversations like this one are really insightful and help spark internal discussions with our Product Team about potential improvements. While we can't deliver on all requests right away, we do take note of what's important to you. We'll be sure to let you know if there are any updates in relation to this suggestion.
Are there any updates as to when we can see approvals in Wrike Analyze? I'm surprised we have little functionality with approvals in reports but none whatsoever in the Analyze section. This is crucial for our team.
Hi Mackenzie Bruns, thank you for chiming in here. I've passed on your feedback to our team.
Upvoted - and adding... Approvals are basically not useful to us if we can't report on them. I'll have to fake out tasks with custom workflows instead.
Would love to know when this will be available in Reports, Dashboards, Table Views, anything! Thanks!
Thanks for adding your case and upvoting Jaime Nwaobi 🙂

Yes, I agree. More customization in the dashboard widgets to see not just if you have pending reviews from an approver standpoint, but having options to show new 'rejected' reviews (like received in the past few days or a week), so people assigned to those tasks/files can more easily see a list of revisions they may still need to make would help our team's collective workflow tremendously! Currently in the custom widget options, if you choose to show 'rejected' reviews, it shows files that were rejected at some point in the updates section, but it would be helpful if you could specify when that rejection was received when setting up the widget.
Is there an update on the ability to see all active approvals in My to-do or reports?
Hey folks! Our team is currently researching this suggestion, and we'll let you know how it goes 👍

I too would like to be able to track pending Approvals - I can't believe this is not a function already.
Just had an employee ask me how he can find what has been assigned to him via approvals... it seems like an unfortunate oversight to not be able to see what is assigned to you! I wasn't aware that this was an issue until now, so now I'll have to be careful with even using the approval function in our workflows as to not unknowingly sabotage our document approval processes. :(
Adding my +1 to this very much-needed item.
Thank you for your continued support here, everyone!
I don't have an update for you at the moment, but we'll let you know if there are any changes here in the future 👍

Can I chime in and add to this suggestion. Not being able to see what approvals are open for me and my team basically means approvals are useless as can't find what is going on.
There is a dashboard widget button for them but it does not seem to work, which is frustrating from a UI perspective.
For me dashboard widget that can show /filter approvals for people like it is a standard property is needed for approvals to work otherwise when i miss that alert it is just lost.
YES please! We also want the Approvals data available in Wrike Analyze for reporting.
Approvals can't be filtered any more in dashboard by the assigned approver. It is only available in reports.
April, I assume you're talking about new dashboards, right? If that's the case, please keep in mind that they are still in the Labs, and reporting on approvals will be added soon.
Finally, you have heard the cry of the needy! Due you have an ETA on when we might see the Approvals "Due Date"? I was just about to alter my Workflow to capture Approval due date in a secluded task. This would help tremendously if we can see this must have feature ASAP.
Essentially, the actual "Due Date" of an Approval embedded within a task has its own "Due Date", however, we can't see that Due Date in the Dashboards because Dashboards are based only on Task or Project dates. Hope this gives greater clarity.
Need Dashboard capability to show Approval Due Date and not Task Due Date.
Hey Patty, can you please elaborate a bit on what you are trying to achieve with approvals' due dates? Is it about reports, table view, dashboards, or anything else? What do you want to see them for?

Hi @..., thank you for your question. You can use these filters in New Dashboards:
Would this work for you?

Found a semi-workaround for this process. Follow the steps below:
When you create the approval add the user(s) to the task as assignee(s). (This ensures that the task shows up in the user's My to-do page)
Setup an automation for the space or folder where:
So when the user gives their approval they will be dropped from the task and the task will drop from the user's My to-do page.
This works best if you have a standardized set of approvers since you can combine this with a custom workflow that starts the approval on status change and adds those approvers as assignees on status change.
Has there been any movement on getting the approvals added to the dashboard? Most specifically file approval.
Terri, we provide widget presets for pending/overdue file reviews. You can also use Files widget and display only those that require approval by configuring its filters.

@... thank you for your quick response. I was able to find that yesterday, but the widget was not working properly. We spent several hours trying to use the widget to work within our department/teams to get this to properly function for our needs but was only moderately able to get to that point.
For instance, we are broken into groups/teams where there is a director that leads - each director is responsible for making sure the PM handles their requests so that the department issuing the approval request does not get backlogged.
I will monitor this for a while and come back if we are still having issues. thank you
