Folllowing List for Post: [Status: Backburner ⏳] Possibility to change the settings for admins
[this list is visible for admins and agents only]
Hi Heiko, thanks for reaching out. If you don't mind, I'll move this post to our How To section where the Community members ask questions and discuss how to do things in Wrike. Please let me know if you don't mind that 🙏
Regular users and admins on all accounts can invite new users by default. Admins on Professional and Business accounts may limit invitations from Regular Users to a certain domain. Admins on Enterprise accounts may restrict invitation rights to admins only. I think it might be a good idea to make some of the Admins Regular users and limit their invitation rights according to your subscription. I hope this helps 🙂
Please let me know if you have any other questions

Hello Lisa, thanks for the quick answer. Please move the post to where it fits best, no Problem.
In our account (Enterprise) it is already set that only the owner or admins can invite new users. Because we have different departments, so we have a few admins. But I don't want every admin to invite new users at will! I can set or change a lot of rights for admins. But I think this one's missing.
Greetings.
Hey Heiko, good to see you around the forums again!
Considering the ability to invite can't be turned off for admins, could some of these be changed to Regular Users? I assume not, because they use/need some other Admin permissions - I'm just wondering what admin rights they need, if not all of them?
Thanks 👍
Hi Stephen, we have given some administrators only certain functions, e.g. managing groups, workflows, request forms etc.
And we're just considering whether to change some of those to regular user. But anyway, you can withdraw the possibility to change account settings and security settings. Why isn't there a button to disable the user invitation?
Thanks for your help.
Greetings
I can see where you're coming from. I've raised it with the Product Team to see if there are any plans to review Admin permissions and for them to investigate this idea.
As a possible solution for now: I've seen some accounts set up a Request form for Admin actions. Meaning they reduce the number of admins on the account and when anyone wants some admin action taken, they raise a simple request form which assigns to those with the correct admin permissions to action it. It's a longer process, yes, but it's a good safeguard for any admin errors. Plus these request tasks act as a good audit trail of admin actions. This audit can help you identify who needs admin access from the number of requests from certain individuals or to just review recent requests.
For now, I'll move this post the feedback forum for others to discuss and vote and I'll pop back here when I have more detail to share 👍
I agree that there should be a admin permission to control their ability to invite new users.
Another thought related to allowing others to edit things like request forms, groups, workflows, etc.: groups can already be managed by regular users by setting up a group admin. Group admins can then control who's in their group and create sub-groups as necessary. In a few months, once the new Spaces feature is fully released, regular users will also be able to edit request forms by being a space administrator and having the request form assigned to their space. The only thing missing, then, is workflows. I think it'd be a lovely idea to treat workflows like request forms and allow the Space admins to edit the workflows assigned to the space.
Other things could be changed through an admin action request form as Stephen suggested, or by further expanding lower-level admins over those items.
Hello Stephen, thank you that sounds good for the moment. But the easiest way is the disable button. 😉
@Joshua: We'll see what advantages the Space feature brings.
Hey guys, a quick update here - I've added the "Backburner" status here, which means that the Product team are interested, but it's not on the short-term roadmap at the moment. I'll get back to you when I know more 👍

Hi Lisa, thank you so much for the information. 👍
Hi there 🙂 I checked with the team, and as they are looking in this right now, I've changed the status to "Investigating". I'll get back to you when I have more info.

Hey everyone, the Product team are still researching this topic, so the status will remain "Investigating". As soon as I have an update for you I'll let you know!
Please keep looking at this. There needs to be a way to separate out certain admin features from others, or make some admin features available to "full" users. We keep promoting people to admins just because they need to build request forms. We don't have the bandwidth to have 'actual' admins build the request forms - so we have to grant people more system rights than we want to - including the ability to invite new users. This needs to be split out somehow. Thank you!
Hi Lois Compton, thank you for this use case. It's been passed on to the Product team.
Hi Wrike team, are there any news on this topic?
Hi Heiko Benke, thank you for posting. I've checked with the Product team and at the moment this suggestion is still under research. I'll be sure to let you know if there are any changes.
Hi WRIKE team, now so many years have passed since the request.
Is there still no solution?
Thanks.
Hi Heiko Benke! We've recently discussed this idea again with our Product team and. for now, there are no updates from our side. We'll continue reporting this feedback and the vote count here to the team and if we have any updates in the future, we'll make sure to let you know.
