[Status: Backburner ⏳] Outlook Calendar Integration

Is there a way to sync your outlook calendar with a task? eg. A discovery meeting for a client is set up in outlook, but I would also like it to link to a task for the day. This way notes and attachments can be added in Wrike, but the client will only see it in outlook.

Our team also wants to switch to Wrike and the only thing that keeps us from doing so is the missing Outlook Calender integration! 😌

Hi Wrike Team! Make that +35 for that feature request. That's our 35 users on our Business Plus account. Many people on our team are asking for this. We would like to see this feature developed and delivered in 2022. The feature was first requested 3½ years ago based on this thread. It's time to act guys!

Many thanks!

I second this with Roosevelt Dias. We have 27 in our department who are wanting this plus a possible 50 more in other departments. Please update this request in your roadmap.

Hi folks, thanks a lot for supporting this idea! Our team is aware of this need, but they can't prioritize it over other planned enhancements. If we do have an update for this suggestion in the future, we will let you know about it here in this thread. Our Product team can't commit to working on all or even most of the suggestions in this forum, but at the same time, feedback from this channel is still important to them. As an example, here's the list of Community-generated suggestions that the team has released last year. I hope this info was helpful, but if you have any questions, please let me know.

Lisa a list of released things is nice, but do you have a list of requested things in the forum with remark what is in work and what not? That would be good transparency to understand how bussy the developers are and whar we could expect in the future (or not)..

I'm very much in favour of Sven Passinger's proposal for a list of forum requests with status indication from the team. Would be appropriate for a work management company to be able to provide insight into its' own product development process, at least as far as forum requests go.

Hi Lisa,

Thanks for your feedback. I agree completely with Sven Passinger. I'd rather know that a feature will not be developed because it was decided so by the Wrike Team than wait for it indefinitely.

Thanks for this feedback, folks! The main indicator for this is the product status of a suggestion. If you sort this forum by the number of votes, you'll see the highest upvoted ideas along with their statuses included in the title.

For our Black and Green badge holders, we have recently hosted a product roadmap session where we talked about what is planned to be released this year. We are planning to have sessions like that in the future 🙂

+ 20 here.  This, alone, would save my people 1-2 hours per week, and create much more reliable timekeeping (which would save managers even more time).

Currently, the top-most voted request has 450 votes.  This has 233.  I now understand the mission. :)

My Marketing/Video Production company also desperately needs this integration too. Please! This would be HUGE for us - and our clients.

Any VBA programmers here interested in collaborating on just creating some Outlook macros that do this?

This is such a huge issue for our company that I'll be building one myself in either Q2 or Q3 of this year. I run a large construction company so time is precious, but if someone wanted to collaborate we could churn one out together sooner.

I'd make the [as-is] code public here too. This is a silly problem to have considering how easy it is to solve and how beneficial it is to workflow. Wrike is an amazing piece of software but this is a giant flaw and our total usage has been declining since roll-out directly because of it.

I had never done web development and it took me all of a weekend to learn about JSON, get familiar with the Wrike API, get (no pun intended!) comfortable with http requests, and write a plug-in that uploads a list of interdependent tasks to Wrike (1-way, token access, default target folder only). A low-feature VBA plug-in that just keeps Wrike tasks in 2-way sync with an Outlook Calendar is probably 4-6 days of research & programming followed by some on-again off-again bug chasing with a few live testers before roll-out a couple weeks later. It's not time consuming or particularly complicated, I just don't personally have a free full week in the near future. I can bang out the sync logic and the Calendar connection code in my sleep; so if you're sitting on some Wrike read/write capable VBA that uses OAuth instead of tokens strings for access that's half the time I'd spend right there (I'd have to learn and test OAuth interactions).

Drop a line here if you have a little experience with this and are interested - we'll find a way to connect.

I don't have any VBA expertise. But I'd happily buy the team that does this a dinner. OR, you can start a GoFundMe and I'll HAPPILY pitch in a few dollars. I imagine that most folks on this thread would too.

(man, that is COMPLETELY the business someone should start:  GoFundMe4WrikeEnhancements)

Yes please! My vote is on this to be developed by the wrike team. thanks!

Our team would greatly benefit from being able to synch our Out of Office Status and meetings to our Wrike calendars so project task start dates and due dates would auto-adjust. We would also benefit from Wrike exporting tasks to our Outlook calendars. This appears to be a very important feature for many others as well.

A search for "Outlook Calendar" in Product Feedback shows 520 threads with several that have a significant number of upvotes. E.g.: the Import Outlook Calendar meetings to Wrike has 72 upvotes and this thread Integration with MS Outlook Calendar has 57.

Could this Product Feedback thread be combined with other threads to increase the upvote count and likelihood that Outlook Calendar integration becomes reality?

Hi everyone, thanks a lot for your continued feedback here!

Please rest assured that even though we can't technically merge threads, we keep track of votes and comments for all posts related to the same topic internally. We don't have an update for this suggestion to integrate with Outlook calendar as this is not on our team's immediate plans due to various factors. At the same time, our team is aware of the amount of interest for these similar suggestions. We will let you know if there are any updates or changes here in the future. Thank you again for sharing your feedback.

Lisa, thanks for the response. Does the Community Team post a link to primary threads in the other related threads for the most up-to-date Wrike responses?

Annie Studer This is the main thread with the biggest number of votes, so we'll be updating this thread primarily. Also, we announce all releases in Weekly Release Notes, so it would be the easiest way to track any additions to Wrike's functionality 🙂

I can't believe this thread is still going. I've got a tenner on Elon getting humanity to Mars before Wrike start listening to us.

I did recently discover that ClickUp offers this in their free package.  Not sure why Wrike hasn't followed suit yet.

hi @..., thanks for letting us know but for customers with a lot seats the costs are quite huge.

Any news about native integration?

Hi Nils Troll, thank you for your reply. In today's Weekly Release Notes, we've announced a native integration action that allows you to automatically create events in Outlook Calendar. Would you please let us know if this option could be helpful for you?

@... Does this integration action require an add-on subscription to Wrike Integrate to work?
