How to Filter for Tasks Assigned by Me (or Current User, or Any User)
I'm looking for a way to filter for Tasks that were "assigned by" a user (me, current user, etc.). Not Authored by, which is unhelpful since we use project templates/blueprints and everything gets authored by whomever duplicated the template.
Use Case: I need to create a dashboard that runs at a project container folder for each delivery lead to see only the tasks that a) are assigned to them and b) tasks that they've assigned to others across a number of projects.
This has been a feature in Asana, even in the base (free) version for as long as I can remember.
Hey Mike, thanks for reaching out 🙂
I'd suggest using Custom Fields for this - you can add a new "Assigned by" field and then create Dashboard widgets using the filter to include certain tasks that were assigned by a particular person.
Please let me know what you think 🙌

This is not a great solution. It is a basic need. I can't ask all of my users to jump through these hoops for a basic need.
@Christopher Hey, thanks for adding your comment 🙂
Currently Wrike does not provide functionality to filter by the users who assigned work. However, it could be a great suggestion for our Product Feedback section.
@Mike, I can go ahead and move this thread to Product Feedback. Please let me know what you think.

Hello Wrike Team! Has this feature been implemented yet? I was doing a search of my own, wanting to accomplish this same thing, and found this thread. Please let me know—thanks!
Hi Kara Halleran, welcome to the Community!
I've checked with the team again, and for now, they don't have it in their short-term roadmap. Could you please upvote the original suggestion by Mike if you haven't already? The number of votes really helps the team understand the popularity of suggestions here.

This is crazy that Wrike doesn't offer this feature. Mike Boysen is right... this is a basic feature of Asana. It's frustrating that after all this time, someone in product hasn't pushed this feature change. We have one of our teams using Asana right now, while another is on Wrike.
THIS NEEDS RESOLUTION. It makes wrike less usable for their core feature.
Hi Mark Leck, welcome to Wrike Community!

This should NOT need to be upvoted. Someone in product using common sense should be able to tell that this feature is FUNDAMENTAL to using Wrike for task/project management.
As a side, in case you are communicating up the chain, please let them know that your recent UI changes are diminishing the effectiveness of wrike. Our company has been LONG-TIME wrike users... since around 2010. And we have begun to look at alternatives as you guys have become to move more and more away from what your core product use to be.
Joining a team that uses Wrike, leaving one that uses Jira, I really miss that.
Hey Mark Leck, thanks for the feedback on this.
To add to what Lisa mentioned here, we use the number of votes for any given suggestion on the Community to determine the popularity and need for that feature. The more votes an idea has, the more the team can see the impact that this will have on users. As of right now, the votes on this request are yet to reach the 60+ vote threshold to receive a status, which is why we've recommended continuing to add feedback and votes here so that there's a clearer picture of the need for this functionality. You can also read more about how we work with Product feedback in this post.
Having said all of that, I can totally appreciate that this is a need for your team and we have passed on this feedback to the Product team. I'm also sorry to hear that you're looking at alternatives, that's not what we like to hear. If you'd like to discuss this in more detail with your account rep we'd be more than happy to arrange this. If you need anything else here, please do let us know.
Jean Santos - Hi Jean, if there's anything we can do to help please do let us know. We'd be happy to connect you with a member of the team to address any concerns you may have 👍

Elaine,
Thanks for the feedback. To be clear, I wasn't the first person to call this out. Mike Boysen did that, and had multiple other people jump on this. I recognize that you guys are trying to find a democratic way of filtering priorities. The danger is that there can be some critical, foundational concepts lurking around in your < 30 upvoted suggestions.
I've been using Wrike for over a decade. Sadly, over the last 2 years in particular, you guys have focused so much on adding features that our OUTSIDE your core functionality, and have brought little to no value to long-time customers like us... but are neglecting smaller features that are CORE to project management/task management -- which IMO was what Wrike was built to do.
10 years ago I chose Wrike over Asana. Today, I watched another company I'm involved with make the opposite choice. Look at this feature request: We'd simply like a report that allows us to view all tasks that we have assigned to other users. Doesn't it surprise you that Wrike's software cannot do this? Managers in particular need the ability to see the work that they have assigned out to others in order to best follow up with them. And we shouldn't have to add customer fields or create a separate folder to track all that for us. This is basic stuff. I need to see: what tasks did I assign out to other individuals so I can follow up.
Consider this: After 10 YEARS+ using Wrike as a solution... we have thousands and thousands of tasks in this system. It is starting to get congested. Many of them are not assigned. Some of that is on purpose. It allows us to track stuff we want to do eventually. But we need to be able to distinguish between stuff we've assigned vs stuff we've created. And we need a simple way to be able to see what's been assigned to others for basic follow up.
Not having this is a major flaw.
Mark
PS -- Navigation within Wrike has grossly deteriorated. It is far more confusing for new users to navigate Wrike than Asana. I've watched new employees jump on both systems. This didn't use to be a problem for Wrike.
PPS -- If you lookup our company, REDX, you'd done product research interviews with us in the past with Justin Zimmerman.
Thanks Cansu. Unfortunately, I think we're moving away from Wrike after over 10 years... I think Wrike has been moving away from what made them great in the beginning, and aren't able to address some of these fundamental issues. Obviously the audience has grown large enough that hearing your customers has become harder.
Hey Mark Leck, I'm jumping in for Cansu here, hope you don't mind.
We're very sorry to hear that you're considering moving away from Wrike! We appreciate the feedback that you've shared with us, and if there's anything else that we could help you with, please let me know.

I agree with Mark Leck this is a super basic feature that Wrike should have and it shouldn't need to be requested or upvoted. As one of the primary decision makers in my company, I will be recommending we move away from wrike.

I'm a new Wrike user and I can't find any help on this ... I am trying to create a dashboard widget so that I can have a panel showing the tasks that I have assigned to my team but have not been started ... but when I try to sort by User, there are no users actually there.
Is this a bug? Is there another way to see my teams unstarted tasks at a glance?
Hi Logan Schinbeckler, welcome to the Community, you're in the right place to ask for help 🙂 When creating a new widget for your dashboard, you can use the option Custom widget, and in the Filters section access the Assignee tab, where you should be able to select all the relevant users:
