Pin task to top feature
In addition to setting priority based on drag and drop ordering, it would be great if tasks could also be "pinned to top" so that they never move down when new tasks are added. Thank you.

Hi there,
This would be a great feature! We have our regular tasks with dates, and then we have tasks that reference other tasks or ongoing projects.
Thanks in advance.
Ginger
Hey everyone! Apologies for the delay in response here.
One workaround for this would be to create a custom field for the task you'd like pinned and then to sort by that custom field. That way, it will always be the one on top.
Hope this helped! If you have any questions, be sure to let me know.
Hi Hugh,
Our team doesn't have a subscription level with custom fields. Any other recommendations for a workaround?
Thanks again,
Ginger
Hi Ginger Reed,
Thank you for the extra detail! Another workaround could be to sort tasks by priority, and to drag and drop the "pinned" task to the top. This way, it won't move when new tasks are created.
Another possible workaround could be to sort tasks alphabetically and to add an extra "A" to the start of the task title. This will make sure it remains at the top of the list as well.
Let me know if these helped!
Hi @...,
Thanks for the suggestion. With the volume of tasks we have and our workflow, we have to keep everything sorted by date.
Warm regards,
Ginger
Hi Ginger Reed,
One possible workaround could be to change the date of your chosen "pinned" task to be earlier than the rest and then to have the actual date in the task title? That way, you can keep this task at the top, and then when you choose to change it or complete it, you can quickly find the original date to change it back.
Hope this helps! Thank you for providing all this information.
