Wrike App not opening

I've been using Wrike's desktop app for a few months now but just today for some reason I can't access the window. It shows as open in the desktop toolbar but the window doesn't pop up. I already tried to uninstall and reinstall to see if that would fix it but that didn't help. It happened suddenly so I'm not sure what happened. Has anyone else had this issue?

Hi Josh, here's what our support team suggested for the OP.

Please try:

  • ALT+Space, it will allow you to open the control menu.
  • After, you won’t be able to see the desktop app, but hit "m" to select the "Move" option.
  • Then use the keyboard arrow keys to move your window in the chosen direction until it starts to appear at the appropriate edge of your visible screen.

Hi, I have the same issue since today. I installed the latest Upgrade (3.1.0.1631) yesterday. Now I'm limited to the web-version. Some other suggestions?

Hi, Me also after today update with version 3.1.0 I cannot open Wrike. When i open Wrike windows app then I can see 5 tasks in my Task Manager but no window is opening. Please help.

I'm having the same issue post-update. The desktop app no longer opens. I'm able to log in via the web browser.

 

I've tried restarting my computer post-update, and have the same issue.

I also have the same issue since yesterday. I've installed the latest Upgrade (3.1.0.1631) yesterday and since that moment I'm limited to the web-version.

The shortcut doesn't even open the desktop app window :(

Unfortunately I have same issue. Have the desktop app but it won't open after last update.  
Have tried to repair and re-install but still won't open.

Hi Lisa,

 

Jumping on the train here as well. Wrike does not open for me after the latest update (3.1.0.1631). Task manager shows that it is running, but the UI window never appears. Just did a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro 1909 today as well.

 

Can you open a ticket for me too?

Hi everyone,

After digging in deeper on the issue with the Wrike team,  I received word that the issue stems from running windows 10 in "dark" mode. They also let me know that are reverting back to the previous version temporarily in order to fix this in v3.1

 

I was able to uninstall and then download the previous build (v2.6) of the desktop app via the web browser version of Wrike and it now works again.

I can confirm John's fix. I was using dark mode and changed to light mode and Wrike opened for me. I am back to dark mode now with wrike still open and no issues so far.

Hi everyone! Sorry again for the inconvenience! Here's the solution from our Support, hope this helps:

Our team checked this issue with our engineers and it looks like it's related to the fact that the new Desktop app version runs on the Electron version 6.0.0 which is not launching with Windows 10 Dark Mode. You can find additional details here: https://github.com/nklayman/vue-cli-plugin-electron-builder/issues/378.

In case you'd like to stay on the new version of Wrike for Windows App please make sure to turn off the Dark Mode and check if everything works fine in the Light Mode Windows.

If you rolled back to the previous version already you can download version 3.1.0 of Wrike for Windows App here.

At the moment we've decided to stop the distribution of the new Wrike for Windows App for Windows x64 so in case you want to stay on that version, you can download the previous version of Wrike for Windows App from Apps & Integrations portal.

Please let me know how that goes!

I like dark mode so I'm still running version 3.2.1 of the deskptop app. 

Is there a new version with support for Windows dark mode?
