Custom Fields in Board View

I also want to mention Dashboards. Although the Custom Field won't show on the Dashboard itself, you can create a Dashboard Widget filtered by a Custom Field; meaning every task in the list will have the Custom Field. Not exactly what you're looking for I know but it might help for now 👍

Katherine Evans I am wondering the same thing. That is exactly what I am looking to do but haven't had luck configuring a dashboard widget to filter according to custom fields!

Hi Katherine Evans and Kassie Grecula 🙂 If the project that the widget is based on has custom fields, you should have the option to "Add more filters" - this is where you filter by custom fields:

Hi Lisa... Thank you for sharing. So there's no way to see across all projects and spaces? The "add more filters" only pops up when you click a specific project. To provide context, I would like my team to see ANY task tagged "Paid Media" so they can keep track of the moving parts across clients. Is there a workaround for this without having to create 15 different widgets? 

Thanks for getting back to me, Kassie Grecula! What if you put the 15 projects that you mentioned to one parent project and build your widget out of that?

Hi Lisa,

a guest can't select custom fields in the board view. But it works in custom board views. Is that a bug? In all other views, a guest can see the custom fields.

Hi! I have a dashboard that shows all my team members with their current task, but I cannot sort by custom fields or even show important custom fields that identify the tasks during our meetings! Any chance this can be added soon?

Custom Fields can't currently be shown on a dashboard widget, but it should be possible to filter by them. Sorting by custom fields on dashboards isn't unfortunately planned at the moment, but you can still support this suggestion here.
