App notifications

Is there a way to customize the desktop app notifications, like you can for email notifications? I wish to turn off all notifications for tasks until the status/workflower has been changed. Our admins are adding me as an assignee when they create the project, but are not ready for me work on them. I wish to get notifications only when the status is set to my workflow. I am able to do this for emails, but I don't see any sort of notifications settings for the desktop app.

Hi Laura, the notifications for Desktop are turned on for activity in the account. Currently, there are little options in terms of customizing these notifications. It would be great to have this in our Product Feedback section so our Product Team can see it and other members can vote for it.

Let me know if that's ok to do and I'll move this post over to that section 👍

Thanks Stephen. Yes, that will be fine to move it. I just ended up going in and turning all notifications off for wrike under the settings for my mac. That has helped. There are a few other wish lists that we have and I will see about posting those over in that forum someday when i get the time.

Sounds great Laura, we welcome all Feedback and ideas 🙌

Here's some info on getting the most from the Product Feedback section and how the voting system and Statuses work.

I've moved the post now too.

I would VERY much like to also have notifications when a task is moved into my status - we constantly struggle with this, as I am a manager of a small team so assigned to every task - but the workflow is where we signal the phase - Copy writing - Design - Proofing - External Review etc.

Hi Melissa Cooper, welcome to the Community! 🙂

I think this can be achieved using Wrike's Automation. You can create an automation rule that'll work the following way: when a task in a selected project or space changes status to some specific one ("your status"), you'll receive an @mention and a message that you can set up:

Hope this is helpful! Please let me know if you have any questions 👍

Hello Lisa, I am a space admin.  There are only certain notifications that need to be made, such as when one task is completed and the next person needs to work on their task.  It looks like this is available for admins but not space admins?

We only need notifications for certain tasks in a project, not for every task..

Hi Kristy Schaan! This automation should be possible for space admins that can set up space-level automations. But I'm afraid it won't be possible to set it for certain tasks in a project, only all of them. Could you please share more detail on your use case?

Hi Lisa,

Sorry.  I don't think that I replied to this and I'm not sure if this was addressed elsewhere.  We have tasks where person A has 3 tasks in a row, person B has 1 task and then person C has two tasks.  Person A doesn't want notification when each of their own tasks are done, but we need a notification to person B when person A is done with their 3 tasks, for person C when person B is done with their 1 task.  I don't think this is possible, especially since our dates are fluid and depend only on when the previous task is done with a few exceptions, but just thought I would put that out there so it is on the radar for a change that would be helpful.

Kristy Schaan That could work if you had those tasks connected by dependencies. In this case, you could set up an automation to add a comment & mention when all previous tasks have been completed:

Let me know what you think.
