How do I delete a duplicated task from one folder and not the original folder?

Whilst adding a task (with sub tasks) to a folder, a task from a different folder was added.

If I delete the task then it deletes the task in both folders.

I can remove it from the Legal requirements folder (original folder) as I get an x in the corner. But I cannot remove it from the Collaboration folder.

Please help

/Denise

Are you using Enterprise? Do you have Admin on the account or a user? it could be that you have view-only permissions for the Collaboration - SIG folder, hence why you cannot remove the folder tag as the owner of that folder has set your permission to view only.

Might be something to look into.

From your screenshot, it seems that "Contracts and amendments" is a subtask of "Research knowledge sharing tool". The parent task, "Research knowledge...", must be sitting in the Collaboration folder, as subtasks show their parent task's folders in this way.

We have a task that was placed in two folders by mistake and we need to remove one of them. I am an admin and cannot find the way to delete this task. Please advise

@Lisa. When clicked into the task you can see the two folders that the task belongs to. It should be noted that it is not a duplicate task, it is the same task that can be currently viewed in the two folders. To remove the one folder you wish this task to be removed from just hover over the folder within the task view. Once hovered you can see an X in the top right hand corner of the folder tag and then click on that X. This will then remove the folder tag that you do not want the task to appear in.
Hope this helps.

From the List view, right-click on the task then select "Detach".
