[Status: Not planned] Defaults for Expand and Collapse All

After switching to Lighting, we are seeing this become more of an issue where we definitely need the ability to set this default Expand/Collapse.  It is sad that I am adding this information on the community forum where Wrike is already throwing in the towel saying that it is not Planned to be implemented.  This is the second time Community Forums has let me down and wasted my time. I thought we wanted to make this platform better and more user friendly for all users?

Could someone explain this previous post? Is this possible? How do I enable it?

My understanding is that software like Wrike is intended to help businesses manage their projects and tasks, and it seems like being able to view, navigate, and organize a nested hierarchy of projects/tasks is a big part of doing exactly that management. So I find it surprising that it's not a priority for the product team. It also makes me curious what are the priorities of the product team—dark mode is nice to have, but doesn't save many minutes of tedium like the requested feature here would.

It's possible to expand or collapse manually. Can you please let me know if you can do that in the Table View?

An expanded default view assumes that users have very limited projects and, presumably, that Wrike is intended for non-sophisticated users.  If that is not the case, I would suggest making the collapsed view the default and making it easy to toggle between collapsed and expanded views.

How is it 2024 and this isn't an option yet? I don't enjoy having to click "subitems" and clicking "collapse all" just because I navigated away from the dashboard for a moment. It would save a lot of unnecessary clicks. Please let me choose a default option, or it at least remembers what state I last left it in.

We most certainly would benefit greatly from having the ability to set what is default.  I click the "collapse all" button far too often.

Having folders and projects auto-expand upon entering a Space can be intimidating for new users, especially if there are many subfolders, subtasks, etc.

It would be very welcome to set how items should display upon opening a Space (e.g., collapse all, expand next level, etc.)

and / or

Collapsed as default - most users (in particular, basic users) are familiar with a collapsed set-up when navigating apps that utalise folder structures (File Explorer, OneDrive etc.)

Adding to the wishlist here. It's extremely tedious to have to click collapse all every single time I open one of the 100+ active projects in my team's portfolio. We'd all love to save those two wasted clicks by being able to set the preference at the Space or at least folder view.

Also adding to the feedback - being able to set the levels of expanded vs collapse as a customized default would also be nice. 

I'd like to make sure that when I share a view of a project or portfolio in a space, what the link I share opens to matches how I had it so it's focused on I wanted to show them. If I send a link to a table I have certain folders expanded and certain collapsed to one of my executives, their heads would explode if it opened fully expanded to show all the tasks...

Every new member i add to the platform complains about this missing feature.  I find them instantly discrediting Wrike early on when they realize this is not an optional setting.

Just adding support for this one - many of our projects grow to be very large and complex. Expanded view is just too chaotic especially for new users. Would really appreciate the ability to set a default to collapse all.

This is an issue for adoption, at the very least switch the default from "expanded" to "collapsed".

I see the ability to expand and collapse all in table view for a folder however when working from a Dashboard in Table View, that option is not available. Can the same feature be enabled for expand/collapse all in the Dashboard version of Table View?
