Task automatically assigned to next person when complete
We have a project with multiple tasks, derived from a template which designates an assignee for each task. Each task is setup with a finish to start dependency. When someone marks the first task complete, is there a way to automatically assign the next task to the specified person?
Hi Matt - there is a Wrike bot that sends a notification once the task prior is marked as completed.
Hi Matt, Jenifer is correct on this, as usual. The inbox preference can be reviewed in your profile settings under 'Email'.
You might also be interested in Auto-Assign by Status. Where the change of a task's Status automatically assigns a pre-set assignee. If the person is finished their part of the task and if they change the Status to the next stage in the Workflow, then the person responsible for that stage will automatically be assigned.
This does not seem to work.Is it possible I set up the dependencies wrong somehow?
Hey Yosef Levertov, I saw that our Support team was in contact with you and I'm glad to see that this was resolved. If you have any other questions be sure to let me know!
Is there anyway to get an email notification and not just an inbox notification? What I am looking to do is when a task is marked complete, the assignee of next task that is dependent on it gets an email indicating that they have a task to attend to. Not everyone is in Wrike everyday and relaying on them to check their notifications seems unrealistic. It can severely delay a project moving forward
Hi Kristina Savoca, welcome to the Community! Do I understand correctly that the successor task has an assignee already?
If that's the case, would it be useful to create an automation rule to ask the assignee of the task - when they complete it - to @mention the assignee of the dependent task?
