Using email to duplicate task / use task template
Not really sure if Wrike can do this, but I would love to have a possibility to duplicate a task or rather create a task through template through email. The idea is we get a request for technical support from our client, we forward it to wrike and wrike will create a task from a template we have with several subtasks. Is there currently a way to do that?
Can anybody respond?
Hi Jakub, you can create a task/subtask from an email using our integration but you can't create a Project or Task from a template by using this method
The best option for this is using Request forms where you can create a Project from a Template. You can share a link to a form with clients and once they submit the form, it can create a Project in your account from a template Project
If you're interested in learning more about how you could use Requests please let me know and I can help 👍
Hello Stephen ,
My firm provides client consulting services and if we do not have the option for forward emails for new tasks using a sub-task template, we'd like the option to designate a template to use from the form. Is this possible?
Thank you!
@Caroline Hi, happy to see you on the Community 🙂
Sure, when you create a Request Form, you can select what item type should be created when a request is submitted: a new Task, a duplicate of an existing Task, a new Project, or a duplicate of an existing Project. If you have enabled Blueprints in Wrike Labs, then you can also set the Form to create a Task or Project from Blueprint.
Please let me know if you'd like to further discuss Blueprints, I actually think that they might be very helpful in your case 👐
I'd also recommend checking out how to launch a Template or Blueprint from a Request.
Last but not least, there's a Community Best Practice about using Blueprints with Request Forms.
I know it's a lot of info, so please don't hesitate to ask any further questions, I'll be happy to discuss 👍
