Notifications to task oweners/assignees when previous dependent task changes due date
- As a task owner/assignee I would like to get notified if the previous tasks/dependency changes due date (hence I have to start my work later)
- Task 1 is allocated to Person X
- Task 2 is allocated to Person Y
- Task 2 is dependent on the completion of task 1 before it can start
If Person X changes due date for task 1 then Person Y should be notified automatically about the changes so Task 2 can be rescheduled.
Is this function possible? We have a team who's work is dependent on another teams task. We have both tasks linked but since we manage several schedules at once we require a notification process to identify where there have been changes made.

Likewise, our team would greatly benefit from the assignee or designated leadership being notified about any rescheduling on tasks as at present they just have to "notice" the change on their own. Usually when the lack of notice causes a problem.

Thanks Lisa, I upvoted the original post. Along these lines, it would be nice if at least the dependent tasks were noted of the date changes. Currently, the task that you change notes the date change, however all dependencies automatically change with no note of a date change. It would be nice if:
A) the assignees could be notified of the change and
B) the date change could be noted on all of the dependent tasks
This was the closest I could find to the additional issue I'm suggesting, but if you feel that I should create a new post, let me know.
Thank you for this additional feedback here Rob Gorczyca! I think we don't need a separate post as your feedback complements the original post here 🙂
