Global Custom Fields
Pretty straightforward - there are some Custom Fields that in a corporate setting, you're just going to want on everything.
In trying to create RACI matrices, for example, we want this on every single Project, Task, and Folder that we create. Rather than managing this folder-by-folder, we'd like to do this globally. Can this be added as an Account Setting?
Hi Ben, good idea! Andriy shared some workarounds that you might find useful.
For your suggestion, are you thinking that you have a sort of Custom Field setting in your Account Management where you can add default Custom Fields for the account?
Hey Stephen,
That’s exactly what I was thinking! Thanks for the prompt response.
@Ben Tagging in for Stephen and thanks for the extra detail 😊
Hi
This is the exact thing I'm currently trying to work out, having a custom field that when filled out at a project level is also shown the same in each task within the project.
Failing that, an alternative that would be useful for my work that having the option to add a custom field to sit only on one task and not the rest of the tasks within the same project. The reason is that a custom field is at times only relevant to that particular task and assignee.
Thanks

Hi Tim Quirk, thanks for reaching out!
It's already possible to add a custom field to the folder that contains projects, tasks, and subfolders and apply the field to all of them. Also, the team is planning to work on Custom Field management on the account level, which would make it easier to add particular Custom Fields to all necessary projects/folders/spaces. Hope this helps!

Hi Lisa, thanks for the reply.
It's not the custom field itself but the data within the field that I am having trouble with.
For example: if a project has 5 tasks, and I apply a custom field to for all projects, tasks and subfolders, the information I put into the custom field of task 1 is not repeated or carried down to tasks 2-5. I have to put in the data individually for each task, and that is not a feasible approach for my work (human error potential and time wise). I think a roll-up function is available, but that hasn't worked for a text or drop down custom field as far as I can see,

Hi, was there any resolution on this? Would love to incorporate an automated custom field population to my tasks and subtasks within a project.
Hi Tracey Perry, welcome to the Community!
This is currently, not planned in the short-term roadmap of our Product team. I've passed on your feedback to them.
