[Status: Not planned] Request forms - start date

I create some tasks through request forms. It would be good if you could ask the request form to automatically set the task it creates start date to align with the request form submission date. Without having to add a start date question into the form when its always going to be today.

This would be helpful for our team as well. The nature of our work and projects is such that the initial task is a PM task - this needs to occur ASAP, and it the PM's job to determine the cadence for the remainder of tasks in order to meet SLAs. Asking the requestor to enter today's date feels unnecessary - and we're trying to make it as simple as possible so they don't go around our processes. A few extra clicks make a big difference!

Hi Lisa!

Our team would also benefit from an automated way to have "today" as the task start date. I suppose this might be doable now if we each set it up with the Automation Engine?

In addition, this idea has 74 votes now 😎, would it be possible to have a Product Status added?

Hi Soraya Jung, hope you don't mind me jumping in for Lisa. I've tested this and it would work though I think you have to mind couple of things. The condition would be always for the number of "next days" specified and the action required should be specified. I hope I've understood your question here correctly, if not please feel free to clarify.

Can we have an option to set a default value (today) for a date field question in request form? It will be very helpful.

This would be a helpful feature – having to enter today's date as the Start Date creates an additional step for our end-users who are submitting request forms. An option to default Start Date to TODAY would come in handy, so those filling out the request form do not have to enter unnecessary information.

It's kinda odd that selecting a start date sets the start & due date to the date selected, but selecting a due date just sets the due date. Please add "today as the start date" as a feature in request forms soon.

Would really love it if the creating of the form would set the first task due date to the date of form submission date.

I built a blue print that kicks off a project when the form is completed, and all have durations built out, if this one date could be populated automatically on form submission, then all the dates would flow through the all the project and tasks.
