[Status: Backburner ⏳] Adding Progress Bar in Tasks
Hi,
I'm Kris Antoni from Toge Productions Pte. Ltd., a video game development studio based in Indonesia. My company has been using Wrike for project management and planning for over a year. We are also using Wrike as an OKR (Objectives and Key Results) tracking system.
It would be great if there's a Progress Bar feature in each Task so that teams or individuals can share and track progress on tasks. Just a simple bar with 0 to 100% where users can update and have it visible on the List, Table, and Timeline views.
This can be beneficial for tracking production as well. For example there's a task "Produce 100 boxes", the team can update/track how many boxes has been produced easily.
Here's a mockup of the Progress Bar

Hello Rikke Hansen, welcome to the Community, and sorry for the long delay! I’m sorry to hear this is affecting your team, and I understand that you might find it frustrating not to see this feature implemented yet. Unfortunately, not all suggestions can be included in the roadmap as quickly as we'd like. However, please rest assured that we will keep you informed if there are any updates!
Also, please allow me to suggest that you explore our New to Community forum to uncover all the available resources within our Community 🙂
"Hello Rikke Hansen, welcome to the Community, and sorry for the long delay! You are almost entirely missing the point of the comment. The point is that this is BASIC functionality that is in even the most basic PM software, AND this was pointed out SIX years ago (and waiting)!
So, I am sure patience is a virtue, but not implementing a basic feature after six years of updating the software with less important updates is indefensible and frankly a bit of a joke.
Hi @.... I'm afraid Stephen Keen hits the nail on the head on this one... I'd like an answer to my question of how Wrike prioritises its backlog? What has been prioritised over this highly basic and clearly highly desired functionality? What is the reason it is still not being developed after six years? Should we expect that it is just not a priority for Wrike (for whatever reason) and let that inform our decision making?
Hi folks, please let me jump in for Juan here while he's away.
First and foremost, thank you for your feedback. We want to reassure you that all of it is forwarded to the appropriate team at Wrike. We understand it can be disappointing to see some suggestions, especially older ones, not being developed.
The Product Feedback forum operates on a system of votes and statuses, but it's crucial to understand that Wrike can't promise the implementation of all or even the majority of suggestions. Although our Product team is enthusiastic about working on the ideas shared by our users, it's not always practical. Sometimes, user suggestions may conflict with others' needs, or adding new features may require resources that we currently don't have available.
Nevertheless, we deeply appreciate all the input we receive, which is why we have this forum and the associated processes. We track and report on all data, and we regularly request status updates. Your ideas and concerns are consistently communicated and discussed with Wrike's Product Managers.
Our team endeavors to dedicate resources to customer-generated suggestions. For example, you can check out this post where we highlight some of the suggestions released last year that came from the Community. At the start of each year, we create wrap-up posts to showcase all the user ideas that have been implemented.
I hope this gives you a better understanding of how we handle feedback from the Community and how our team prioritizes. If there's anything else I can assist you with, please let me know.

Lisa Your response to the feedback just solidifies the understanding that Wrike does not understand this request.
You said "We understand it can be disappointing to see some suggestions, especially older ones, not being developed." and "Although our Product team is enthusiastic about working on the ideas shared by our users, it's not always practical. Sometimes, user suggestions may conflict with others' needs, or adding new features may require resources that we currently don't have available."
It is NOT about being disappointed. What is being asked is a fundamental requirement of Project Management. Without it Wrike is NOT a Project Management tool (more of a Task Management application). So it might have been an oversight six years ago, but after six years of prioritizing other things I can't see how it might not be practical.
Here are the most basic ways that a PM tracks a project, and at this point Wrike can't really do these without adding formulas and performing calculations (and Completed tasks, Duration of completed tasks, or Tasks and duration average in 'Project Progress' is not a way that a Project Manager would ever dream of tracking progress).
Hello Stephen Keen, thank you for your thorough message and for providing the details of your use case. This is very helpful for our Product Team, and we appreciate that you took the time to write this comment.
We understand how important this addition would be and can clearly see its popularity in this thread. However, even though we continue passing your feedback and comments to our relevant team, not all ideas can be prioritized as fast as we'd like. As mentioned by Lisa, the Product Development Team is interested in this suggestion, which is reflected in the status of the post, and we will keep you updated if any changes are implemented.
If there's anything else we can do to help, please let us know.
Hi - do we have an update on adding this feature yet?

+1 for this feature. It's disheartening to see so many of my needs have been suggested many years previously and never addressed, especially after just signing on with Wrike.
Welcome to the community, Alexis Jones. 🎉 I have shared your feedback with our product team, and as we continue to check on the progress, we will share an update when there is one. Thank you. 😊

+1....
It seems that Wrike's product team turnover is very high as no one has been able to pick up and push for this request.
It is not rocket science...
If a task has a duration of 20 days and the total project duration is 80 days, the reported project progress will remain disproportionately low until that specific task is marked as completed. The 'completion' field is essentially a binary (completed/not completed) status, it doesn't account for the earned value or weight of a longer task.
This problem is compounded in complex projects where multiple long tasks are in progress simultaneously, leading to a consistently understated overall project progress, as the progress only leaps forward after major tasks are fully finished.
