Modify view of custom fields

I have several custom fields. Some I need for data tracking purposes others are relevant to the task.

It would be great to be able to modify or specify which fields are going to be displayed instead of all or none.

Hi Hein, just for clarification: In the Task View, you would like to only see some Custom fields? It would be great to get a little more general information about how you're using both custom field types (data tracking & relevancy to the task) just so our Product Team fully understand the use case.

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Community! 😀

In the Task View I would like to be able to decide specific custom fields that are displayed. For example I have 60 custom fields, some are for data tracking purposes others are actually required data to complete the task. I would like to only show the necessary fields and then hide the rest so that I don't have a giant block of fields and data taking up an entire page which I then have to scroll past to see the remaining description.

@Hien that helps! Would you like the fields to always be hidden or do you sometimes need to see them?

Hello,

I have the same problem in our environment. For me it would help if I can categorize the custom fields to give some more structure and overview. I would really help if for instance there would be a in- and expand option per category of the custom fields.

I'm looking for something similar. I've added a Dashboard Update custom field to projects. This is designed to be the short 1 sentence update for each project. While this works great for reports where you can control the column width, it displays horribly on the projects themselves because you only see a field characters of the status. I don't have any other custom fields on the project so it would be better if either the custom field content automatically spaced to take up the entire width or you cold control the size of the custom field content that displays (see attachment).
