Wrike-Up Wednesday: Skill You’d Love to Learn 🎨

I'd love to learn how to use AI to increase my productivity.

I had 8 years of piano lessons as a kid, during which I banged out whatever music my teacher selected for me. Then 30 years passed during which I didn't touch a piano. I've come back to it as an adult, and I'm trying to approach it with a little more focus and nuance, haha!

Currently learning: Pottery, Next adventure: Welding or Glass-blowing

A hobby that my friends and I started is Geocaching. It is pretty fun going on hikes and trails or driving around the city to find hidden caches, all while we have our own competition to find them first. Sometimes you get to trade little items if the caches are big enough.

I want to learn how to roller skate. I've tried a few times - it's challenging and a lot of fun. 

I'd love to learn Spanish. I have a good vocabulary but speaking it still eludes me!

I have always loved yard work and being in the outdoors, so I would love to learn landscaping design. It would be fun to be able to shape outdoor spaces into something special. 

How fun! I have always wanted to learn to scuba dive for a similar reason. Silence and semi alone with the ocean blanket vs sky blanket :D 

I love to cook, and I am ok for someone who learned by watching others.  But I would love to excel at it! Learn new cooking methods, how to make sauces, cook the perfect steak, know when I am supposed to blanch vegetables, and all that jazz!  

I've been so curious about pottery lately! It would be such a fun and creative hobby that's also practical (I could always use more coffee mugs) ☕

I would love to finally get fluent in Spanish ! 

I enjoy swimming and being in the ocean, but I have always wanted to learn how to surf. 

I want to learn how to knit. It seems so daunting and as a lefty I struggled with crochet, but I'd like to be able to make myself and my friends things!

So many things to learn! I want to learn how to be a bit more handy with a drill and other power tools to complete some home projects. I also would love to learn how to fly a plane and bake some sourdough.

I would love to become a better bike mechanic so I don't get stranded with a flat, and so I can tune up my own bikes at home.

To be an expert on guitar, without a doubt.

The Japanese language has always fascinated me. I can’t get enough of the sounds, the expressions, the whole vibe. Someday I’d love to really dive in and speak it fluently.

Outdoor Enthusiast: I would love nothing more then to grab my gear (knowing what I already need) and head out into the wild. Know about plants to avoid and healing. Know about wild animals that can hurt you and how to handle any all all situations. Knowing how to survive if something happens.  I have backpacked some of the North Country Trail & Hike some as well as many others.  With my limited skillset i have stuck to more touristy areas. In time I know i will get better but learning it all and implementing it do do it all now would be a dream. The only thing holding me back is my skillset! 

I would like to learn to knit and crochet.  My daughter wants to learn and I think it would be fun to learn along side her.

I'd like to learn French

Successful prospector...It intrigues me that with a metal detector and a pan you can still find gold flakes and nuggets and depending on the area even long forgotten relics of our past.  

I'd love to learn how to play my ukulele (and stick with it this time)! 🎶 I come from a musical family so playing instruments is dear to me, but I only ever stuck with playing the Irish whistle. I'd love to add another small, portable instrument to my skill set! Easy to travel with.

I'd love to be able to speak a second language! I'm currently studying Spanish. 

I wish I stuck with Piano lessons as a kid!!  But that's a hard one to pick back up!!  I'm going to go with Hula Dancing instead - there is something so peaceful and inspiring with watching real Hula dancing!! 

I'd like to pick up sewing. I always have known how to fix a button or minor patches but someone more substantial would be great!

Rock climbing (bouldering + sport).
The mix of problem-solving, fear management, and pure movement is exactly my thing.

Also my son becomes interested in climbing so it woudl be a great hobby together.

Reaching far and long and lovingly enough across the divides that more would-be opponents become allies. Applies to product management, adoption and stakeholders...and so much more.

I would love to learn to pilot a plane - sadly, I have health issues that disqualify me.  So I'm stuck as a permanent passenger.
