[this list is visible for admins and agents only]
I close up the computer, put my phone away, and try to spend time outside playing with my kids.ย
It's often picking up ordered groceries or final touches packing for the next adventure.ย
I like to open a good bottle of wine with the wife and unwind while cooking an excellent meal
Fridays I always try to get together with at least one friend to catch up or just celebrate that it is a Friday.
My favorite end of week tradition is after work yoga. It makes a nice transition into a packed weekend!
Sounds like a nice way of fading out of the week.
For me, Friday evenings are all about slowing down the pace. I like to go for a workout or a long walk to clear my head, then enjoy a relaxed dinner with my family. Once the workweek is officially behind me, I usually treat myself to a good book or some music to fully switch gears.
I like to start my Fridays with an early morning run with a friend, so I feel energized and more focused for my work from home day. I don't always want to get up and do it, but I always feel better afterward.ย ย
I love the summer Friday rituals of sand volleyball with friends. It's social, outdoor, and physical all rolled into a fun evening. It's the perfect way to unwind and get ready for the weekend.ย
To clear more time to relax on Saturday, I usually vacuum our condo as the workday ends on Friday. Cue noise-cancelling earbuds with a favorite podcast or musical artist, and that's my work-from-home commute to the weekend.
I'm usually working from home on Friday's, so at the end of the workday, I walk upstairs and greet my family. Friday usually signals homemade pizza for dinner. I'll get the dough started and while it's rising, we'll take a walk as a family around the neighborhood. Always look forward to Fridays!
I think it's dinner and movie chill night for us at the end of a long week!! whatever it takes that does not require a lot of heavy thinking!
Our Friday tradition is family movie night! With 3 young kids, it's something we look forward to all week. We switch off each week on who gets to pick the movie and dinner option.ย
As I am wrapping up my Fridays/work week, I like to shuffle my favourite/saved songs on Spotify and get pumped for the weekend! ๐ถ
Shut off the laptop and create a plan for the weekend - some fun, some chores.ย
End of week wrap up traditions differ for me depending on the season. During the months of May-October, I wrap the week up by going to our campsite on a small lake with my husband. We spend the weekend relaxing and enjoying the warm/hot weather! During the winter it is usually ordering a pizza and trying to find a good movie. Although, it is getting harder and harder to find good movies now a days...LOL!
On Fridays I like to eat out with my wife (we try not to eat out on weekdays) and we frequently do karaoke on particularly stressful weeks.
On Friday afternoons, I play for the week ahead. After the work week, I sip a cocktail with my husband and we celebrate our weekly wins!
The wife started making a pitcher of Sangria on Friday afternoons, so an icy glass of it starts the fun!
Friday is lunch date with my mom
Read a good book
Spending time with my kids, who are still young and like having me around!ย
Have my wife hide my laptop for the weekend & return it back on Monday morning
I look forward to a full stop at the end of the week and wind down the week with a favorite playlist and an hour of me-time with no screens to clear my head and switch gears fully to family time. Fridays are traditionally pizza & movie night!
Before work is over I look a the following week and leave myself a note to welcome me to Monday and the week ahead. Then I mute all work notifications on my phone before I power everything down, surge protectors and all.ย
Then I go all the way to the kitchen and chop something for dinner and transition to the weekend.
My Friday end-of-week routine is having a nice dinner with my family while planning a fun event, such as a hike or other outdoor outing, for Saturday morning.
I have a little stand up desk calendar - I write up what my week looks like for next week, when I get home if I'm going to have a junk food night - Friday is usually the one :)
Try to forget about work - focus on sport competition on Saturday - and watch a good game of football.ย ย
I like to chill whatever form that may take, be it watching sport, going out for a nice meal or movie night at home. Anything that I like to do to relax :-)
For me, wrapping up the week usually means a little reset. I like to tidy up my space, take a walk, and then treat myself to a favorite snack while listening to some music. ๐ถ It helps me switch gears and feel ready for the weekend.
I switch off my email, Teams and Wrike notifications for the weekend, else the work just doesn't stop. And then, I get to do my favourite thing, and that is spend time in the kitchen cooking for the family.
