Phase out of List View: How to mass remove tickets and select all to only select tickets

With the removal of list view coming soon, I wanted to ask for 2 features to be included.

We regularly need to remove a lot of tickets from specific folders. Currently we use the List View, select all, and use the "Remove from" option. On the table view, we are only able to Move or Add.

Doing this manually will take some time, considering we may have 40-60 tickets to remove from a folder at a time.

The second issue we will face with removal of the list view, is ability to quickly and easily select tickets we want from a filter.

  • We keep folders in a "Main Development" project. Those folders stay in the project, but the tickets need to be updated or moved. If I use  "Select all' I will need to manually unselect all the folders. Or alternatively individually select tickets.
  • Adding filters will show empty folders, unless we turn off "show empty folders", but after filtering, we want to see the empty folders and need to continually switch the options
  • Any "closed" folders will not automatically select those tickets inside, so we also need to make sure all folders are expanded.

If there is an existing, better way to manage this I am open to suggestions. Though we have found those features on list view easier to use when mass updating many tickets at once.

Hi  Amy Santas,
I agree with your needs.
For the first example I add to table view Location column and where I can I copy and paste location from a row (project, folder or task) to other.

For the second example I often do in this way:
- Show "Single list of tasks"

And then group by

So in this way I can achieve my goal quicker.

Alternately, you could set up an automation that will trigger to remove those tasks on a specific status change. You can mass edit status changes in table view.

Hi Amy, as Pietro pointed out, the "Single list of tasks" option is crucial in some point to replace list view. I just experienced some issues when changing this option, as it is not handled like filters that can be safed to a specific view. It wil just remain as it was for every viw, but if you change it, you have to change back manually. So I suggest using a specific view with this option enabeld, instead of changing the option itself and then change it back.

Regarding Pietro's first suggestion: Very smart idea to copy the location field, but be aware it won't work if items should remain in different additional folders.

Point #1 is definitely needed. The feature is available on List view but still not on the Table view. I posted about this twice in the List View feedback forum in 2023 and most recently on NOV 11, 2024.

Use Case: I have a process where I review the Agile Marketing Team's tasks from the previous month to ensure all of the custom fields were filled out for analysis purposes to power a dashboard. Sometimes the team creates tasks and forgets to fill out some or all of the custom fields (wouldn't be a problem if I could set certain custom fields as mandatory). This is why I don't have an automation set up to move them to a Done/Archive folder when the status changes to Done. I currently remove tasks from the Kanban board from the List view because it's the only way I can bulk move them. I can't use the "Move" option on the Table view because it removes every single existing Location tag, which would be a major problem for us since they're usually cross-tagged to other Locations, sometimes other Spaces.

Please, Obi-Wrike-Kenobi. You're my only hope. 💚
