Wrike's Generative AI: New Option for Drafting Work Breakdown Structure โ
Pinned FeaturedHello Community ๐
Weโre very excited to share with you the latest addition to our Generative AI feature, which will make it easier than ever to create all the necessary tasks for your new projects - in seconds!
Introducing the Create Subitems with AI option, which does exactly what its name implies ๐ย
Hereโs what you need to do to access it:
Note: you need to have the Generative AI option enabled in Wrike Labs in order to use this feature.
-
ย Open your new project and click on the AI icon โจ next to the Add subitem button.
-
A prompt will ask you to describe your projectโs goals. Type in your description.
-
After you've provided the details, the system generates a list of suggested subitems for your project.
-
If this list looks good, click on the Create subitems button to add these tasks to your project.
And that's it! The AI tool has populated your project with all the necessary subitems. Magic, right? โจ
As always, your input is invaluable โ so if you have any thoughts or feedback on this new feature, please let us know below ๐
Do the suggested subtasks come from a universal back of tasks or are they based on what our company uses as subtasks?
Will there be an option to change the output language of the AI?
This doesn't really seem to generate an actual WBS, it's just creating subtasks. What I think we all want is the ability for Wrike to automatically create the numerical WBS along with the subtasks. Right now, this has to be manually populated and is very time consuming.ย
Hi folks, apologies for the late reply here!
Kendra Ciszczon Universal subtasks aren't taken into account.ย
Florian Gascho At the moment it's only in English, but the team has plans for localization. We'll keep you posted.ย
Jennifer Wood We appreciate your feedback on this!ย

I tend to agree. We need WRIKE to automatically generate the work breakdown numbering system for project work. I have been doing this manually for almost 3yrs since starting at this company who only uses WRIKE as their PPM tool. I can create a blueprint, but I still have to update the numbers if they no longer align to the current project. Very time consuming.
