Add Text Blocks to New Dashboards

The new dashboards are working great for us, but I have received feedback that it would be beneficial to have simple text block widgets to add more descriptive text within the dashboard rows and columns.

Hey, Katie! It's something we are planning to do relatively soon. How would you use those text blocks primarily? Section headers/titles, descriptions for the content in widgets, or anything else?

We would use them in a multitude of ways. Primarily it would be the headers to break up the sections, but also to add helper text or additional information to project dashboards such as the definitions of statuses.

I was just about to ask for the same and found this post - thanks Katie.

Vladimir, we would use text blocks to provide titles and descriptions or annotations to explain information for viewers who don't need all the deep details, but might need some context or explanation.

Diana, thank you! We are planning to provide such capabilities later in H1.

Vladimir Bugay Lisa Do you have any updates of when we can expect to have Text Blocks added to the New Dashboards?

It would also be super helpful to be able to create a Table of Contents for bigger Dashboards with anchor links to specific sections.

Katie, we are planning enhancements in that area in H1, but when it comes to navigation through bigger dashboards, something else is coming during the springtime. I guess you want to use text widgets to break down bigger dashboards into sections and organize navigation across them. We'll do something better :)

Going to "third" all of this :) It would be wonderful to be able to create distinction between sections. For example.  I created a dashboard for a client that displays both "Tasks" and "Project" information. The Tasks are broken down into current, next and previous/overdue  sprint items with varying degrees of detail. Under those items, I have project specific milestones, deliverables and under that I have a running tally of 2024 stats. It would be nice to be able to create some clear visual distinction between the sprint items, the project specific items and the overarching 2024 stats.

All, as I mentioned above, we're coming up with a dedicated solution for sections pretty soon.

Hi All, text blocks (in case they are provided with RTF including the possibility to add links) would very useful for us in order to link important files which are related to the project and stored in cloud (e.g. in Google Drive).

All, I wanted to let you know that we released the functionality of sections in new dashboards so you can better structure and organize them now. And we are working on functionality for linking various things (tasks, projects, files, and external resources) into dashboards

Hi Vladimir, thank you for your feedback. So it is possible now to add a free text space to a dashboard when we can write additional information and/or add external links?

I would agree with the comments of others.  The ability to add narrative to the new Dashboards would be a great addition.  We develop Project Highlight Reports for surfacing to Senior Leadership Team and they are a combination of stats and narrative.  Ability to add text to the dashboards would allow us to do this fully within Wrike.

Hi Philip McKay, thanks for your comment, I've passed it on to our relevant team 👍

Hello Giovanni De Giovanni, I'm afraid this option is not available at the moment, Vladimir was referring to Sections - you can learn more about this feature 👉 here 😁
