Separate stages/phases functionality for projects
Hi,
I am new to using Wrike for managing projects and I would love to be able to set up different project phases without having to use the status field.
I have several phases with tasks in all of projects and I would like to be able to group tasks under each phase and assign each task a status within the phase to have a more accurate view of the progress of each phase.
Currently I use the status field as the phase and once a task is complete I mark it as "Completed" which means every task ends up in a completed phase and I can't differentiate the completed tasks by phase.
I have used similar project management software and this functionality was available so hoping it is a straight forward request.
Many thanks,
Ciara
I have 2 suggestions.
1. Create folders in your project to group the diffrent phases.
2. Or add a custom field of "Phase" as a drop down and then use that to identify which tasks are in which phase.
Thanks Ashley, however, this doesn't allow me to see my project on one screen if I am sharing it with a client, I need to add a lot more clicks.
Hello Ciara Egan, thank you for sharing your use case with us. Would it help to create a custom workflow where you could add several "stages" (statuses) under the same status group?
You can also auto-assign your tasks based on the status change:
Additionally, you could use Dashboards to visualize your items filtered by status:
Thank you for helping out here Ashley Fischer 🙂
