Disable notifications by workflow

I can't find a way to disable notifications for a particular workspace or workflow. I know individuals can change their own notification settings, but I want to do this for all assignments in a workspace. Is that possible?

Hello Eleanor Ferris, welcome to the Community! In case you are referring to Inbox notifications, only optional notifications can be edited, you can learn more about them here.

As for email notifications, you can disable them all, if necessary. You can find the instructions on how to do this here.

I hope this information helps! If you have any additional questions, please feel free to share more details about your use case so we can have a better understanding of it and provide you with a more accurate reply 🙂

Also, I'd like to mention that you can check our New to Community forum to discover all the resources you can find in our Community.

Thank you Juan,

I followed the link to disable all email notifications, but that looks like it is for personal notifications.

We use Wrike for task management, but we want to also use it for resource management.  We need emails to go to users for tasks assigned to them, but we must not have emails going to users where they are allocated to a particular role in resource management.  This is because we will need to move people around while working out the best groupings, and we want to manage the communications around that.

As it is, it seems people would get notified at every stage in that resourcing exercise, which would not be appropriate.

Is there a way to disable notifications, centrally, for a particular workspace?

Thank you

Thank you Lisa,

I had a call with Bethan last week - it seems it can't be turned off, but we have named the roles for the people, so assigning the named role rather than the individual - it means we cannot easily see (with colour coding) when someone is overassigned, but they don't get emails and it doesn't interfere with task assignment - an effective work around.

Many thanks to your support.

I echo this and need to be able to turn it off in various scenarios (as decided by the user/sender). Without the ability to turn it off, it drives workaround behavior:

  1. Building a schedule, refining it and manipulating it, only to wait until the very last step before adding resources. For example, we have executives who have tasks assigned to them, but they will never need or want an email notification. Instead, we will collect updates from them in forums and emails, and we as the project team will update their tasks accordingly.
  2. Or worse, not using the assignee column at all and instead using a custom field to populate resource names in a text field.
