More intuitive way to change task start and due date
We have many use cases where we need to change the start date, due date and duration of a task. However, doing this is not intuitive in the UI.
Example: I go to re-set the start date, due date and duration. To do this - one would think you would first click on the start date and then the due date. However, this wipes out the start date - so then you need to re-apply that.
It seems this is set up so that you can easily change start dates and keep the same duration, but we have a number of use cases where we want to also change the duration. Could there be a way to give people more control over start date, due date and duration. Like - if you are selecting the start date and the due date - then the duration automatically re-sets to the new duration? This would greatly reduce user error and frustration, as users are feeling like they need to click around multiple times in order to get their new start and due dates to stick. Thanks!

It is clearly not intuitive how to update a task's start date, due date, and duration. I found when attempting to update either of the tasks, the task disappears.
Hi William Weinberger, thank you for sharing your feedback! Could you please clarify what way of changing the dates would be more intuitive for you?

I comment was due to a filter I forgot existed. I forgot what filter I had in place but when I attempted to update either the start or due date, the task would disappear (it would be filtered). I will attempt to reproduce the situation when I have the time. So, my comment is very different from Elizabeth's comment and should not be included in the trail.
That being said, the question I have regarding Elizabeth's comment is if she is referring to the system dates (Start date, Due Date, and Duration) or does she have custom fields with those three date related fields. I did have issues with the custom dates and was provided a workaround but do not want to take Elizabeth's issue off course.
Got you, thanks a lot for clarifying William Weinberger!

Also sometimes our tasks have a long duration. And when I go into the due date, the calendar month displayed does not automatically show the due date month but the start date month. Many times I have to scroll through many months to find the month where the due date falls.
Thank you for sharing this feedback Nikita Gupta, I'll send it to the responsible Product team now 👍
