Feature Updates
- Wrike Labs Release - Resources View ๐
Our team has released a new view that users can open folders, projects, and spaces in - Resources view. It's similar to Workload charts because it provides you with an overview of users' effort allocation. But unlike Workload charts, the Resources view focuses on projects instead of users. The view is available in Wrike Labs for accounts with the WfPS package and Wrike Resource add-on and can be enabled for the entire account by account admins.

- Wrike Labs Release - Bookings ๐
Bookings are a new entity in the workspace for storing effort estimations. Bookings work best if Resources view is enabled in the account. Bookings are also available in Wrike Labs for accounts with the WfPS package and Wrike Resource add-on. Account admins can enable Bookings for the account.

- Quick Open Task By Permalink ๐
The ability to quickly open tasks by permalinks was previously only available to users with the New Wrike Experience. Now, all users using the Classic Navigation have access to it too.

- New Task Printing ๐จ๏ธ
The improved version of task printing was recently released - the new printing option includes proofing comments and updates, and the task's comments stream. It's also more eco-friendly: the fonts are smaller and the profile pictures aren't printed.

- Task View - Context Menu Update ๐
The task view menu under the three-dot button has also been updated:
The Request status update option is no longer in the menu as it has been sunsetted.
The Open in separate tab option is now called Open in new tab.

- File Permalinks - 'Copy File Permalink' Button Available in Description Field ๐ผ๏ธ
There is a new option in the context menu of images in the description field. Hover over an image, click the three-dot button, and you'll see the option to Copy file permalink.

- New Wrike Experience: My Home - Info About Parent Spaces for Folders and Projects on My Home ๐
Now, when you hover over projects or folders in the Recent and Pinned sections of My Home, you'll always see a tooltip with the info about which space it belongs to.

Fixes
- Filters - Greater/Less Than Filters Didn't Work as Expected
When some of you filtered tasks and projects by custom field values using the Greater/Less than filtering options, the filtering results also included tasks and projects with values that were equal to the needed value. To make things clearer, we've renamed these filtering options to Greater/Less than or equal to ๐

- "Following Sites" Tab in Sharepoint Was Not Doing Well
The Following sites tab showed an error: "Something went wrong. Please try again later." Now fixed โ๏ธ

- Planned Tasks from Blueprints Folders/Projects Were Not Shown on Gantt Chart Snapshots
When creating Gantt chart snapshots of blueprint folders or projects, some of you couldn't see planned tasks there. This was only valid for the "current state" snapshots. Fixed ๐

Why is Request status updateย option no longer available?! It was a very useful feature!

There are ways how you can request the update and even automate it, so please feel free to share your use-case and I'll be happy to discuss it with you!ย ๐

Lisa, could you provide some detail on how to automate the request for a status update? I'm familiar with ways that users might receive system-generated alerts (like the daily to-do email or the alert that you receive when all sub-tasks and dependencies for a task have been completed). Were you referring to something different in your comment? Like Daniel, I've found the request status update feature to be useful for users who may respond to email, but don't log into the system very often.

First of all, you can request an update by leaving a comment with an @mention in the task itself, assignees will receive an Inbox Notification and an Email Notification if they have those enabled.
Alternatively, you can also look into Wrike Automation Engine and use some trigger & action options to ping (i.e. @mention) task assignees upon some condition (for example, if the task remained in some status for X-days):

I have already tried to find a solution via automation but a number of days in a certain status does not work for us!
We need the option that a comment is created when a task is X days overdue!
Hi Lisa, I have to agree with Daniel. The AI does not provide the ability to chase overdue tasks easily. It would be great to program a capability that mimics the request status update feature.
Lisa, thanks for replying to my earlier comment. I should have made it clear, though, that I am familiar with the ability to add a comment to tasks. I'm not sure our team would benefit from a comment that is triggered when a task is more than X days past due. I agree with Natalie that it would be ideal to have something that mimics the old request status update feature. For my team, I'm really looking for something that won't look like a "typical" email from Wrike and that can be triggered at the discretion of our team members. Our light users often deprioritize their Wrike inbox and emails that appear to be standard reminders. We've found it helpful to be able to send them a message that looks a little different as a way to get their attention. I was also able to copy myself on request status update emails if needed. The only draw back I saw with the old feature is that the system wasn't recording the information within the task. I used it sparingly for that reason. My guess is that Wrike saw low adoption either because of this need to record information in the system or a lack of knowledge about the request status update feature.

While we are on this topic, is there a way to notify people automatically that a task is upcoming vs. when it's past due?ย I haven't found anything in Wrike unless I am just not seeing it.ย Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.ย
Vanessa Shamonย Automated notifications like that aren't currently available. For this, I'd suggest using the My to-do section in your Personal space to check what you need to be working on.ย
