[From Wrike] Try the New Wrike Lightspeed Experience! โก๏ธ
Hello Community ๐
At our annual Wrike Collaborate conference last year, we announced our biggest platform update - Wrike Lightspeed. This enhanced platform is based on three core values - ease of use, customisability, and scalability, and it enables teams, departments, and organisations to work together as one. Wrike Lightspeed offers the most modern UI and connected experience. Its release is a huge milestone and enhancement of the classic Wrike solution.
Many of you have tried the new Board View, new Table View, new navigation, new Calendar view, and many other innovations. We really appreciate all the feedback that youโve been providing us with, and we never stop enhancing based on our findings and your input.ย
Since the initial introduction of Wrike Lightspeed, weโve been improving the features and views and shared those updates in our Weekly Release Notes forum, held numerous interviews, and a webinar on all things Wrike Lightspeed, and now, you can easily try out this out via our Lightspeed toggle, to see all of the great new functionality we have in store ๐ฅณ
Wrike Lightspeed Toggle is here โก๏ธ
Weโve introduced a brand new Wrike Lightspeed toggle that any user can enable for their individual workspace. When the toggle is enabled, you will get the Lightspeed experience:
๐New Table View - With some of the recent enhancements like new design, significantly improved loading speed, new right-side panel for viewing items, new fields menu, priority sorting for projects and folders, conditional formatting for custom fields (in addition to calculated fields), clickable links in text custom fields, and many more.
- What will be added soon: mass actions, turning on rollups and progress for the whole hierarchy, predecessor column, location column, aggregations, table export.ย
๐New Board View - Itโs at complete capability parity with the previous version now, with very exciting enhancements added like subtask visibility, new UI and improved interactions, assignee & date editing from the cards, handy actions in the context menu, easier custom field management, faster performance, and more.ย
๐New Work Item View - That makes your experience more streamlined - all your tasks, projects, folders and custom item types will be viewed in the same view. We also recently added accentuated top fields so as not to miss the necessary metadata of the item (you can configure them in the custom item type settings) and a collapsible side panel with properties that helps you to focus on the content and comments.
- What will be added soon: improved navigation within the view, printing, project progress, project following, budgeting fields (time spent and rollups), integrations (email, calendar, Zoom), editing by email (the ability to create tasks, and send comments via email), and more.ย
๐New navigation and design with the new sidebar and toolbar. With everything available in the sidebar, we've eliminated the need for a Home page, allowing you to jump right back into your work. Plus, we've made it even easier for you by remembering where you left off when you closed the workspace last time. Customisation of the sidebar & view header allows for a cleaner and easier experience.
- What will be added soon: easier work with your frequently used spaces (hiding, showing, reordering, searching, etc.), viewing all your spaces at once similar to your current sidebar (ability to preview space structure before navigating into it).ย
You can check out the specifics on whatโs new in these views in this Wrike Lightspeed Knowledge Base article.
As our team continues to work on these features to achieve full capability parity with the previous version, you can toggle on and toggle off the Lightspeed experience for now. It is a great time to try out the enhanced features and share feedback! Our team is keeping a very close eye on it ๐
How to Enable โ
All users on all Wrike plans can enable Wrike Lightspeed for their personal accounts.
- Open your Wrike account and click on your profile picture.
- In the list that appears find the Try Lightspeed toggle and switch it on.

Whatโs Next? ๐ฎ
As our Product team continues to enhance the new experience, they are really looking forward to getting your feedback to be able to address it!ย
Later this year, we are planning to start rolling out the new Wrike Lightspeed experience for all users, so we want to make sure youโre happy with it!ย
Please try out the new Wrike Lightspeed experience and share your feedback with us ๐

Thank you so much for keeping your feedback coming Luis Perez, it's already passed on to our Product team.ย
There are still some enhancements planned that we'll be announcing (like using the checkbox to complete an item), so please stay tuned for those updates. Could you tell me if you are following our Weekly Release Notes?ย

It seems this new design was prepared for big screens, but when it comes to notebooks it is more complicated, as the information is hidden and the size of the panels makes it more complicated to work...
Another thing I found annoying is when you want to change a Workspace, it is hidden now, I had to figure it out that I needed to Click on the actual Space to see the list of spaces, it is not intuitive and more clicks added to the process.
Thank you for the additional feedback Luis Perez, I'm now passing it on to our team ๐

I find that having Recent items in the search window is not efficient. I have to click on Search, which now opens a full window instead of just a drop down, and then wait a second or two for it to load, then I can click on a recent item.
It would be much faster if Recent was a drop down in the sidebar just like the Pinned items or the list of Spaces (when only showing 1 at a time as a drop down). I could then click to expand the recents and click an item. Much more convenient when I am hopping around from space to space, project to project.
Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback Jason Pontius, I'll let our team know now ๐

This new view is terrible sorry!
Hi Mirjana McIntyre! Could you please elaborate on what you don't like about it?ย

I can elaborate: The new platform is painfully slow! The totals (aggregate sum) at the bottom for the columns in the table view are gone; in the table view, I used to be able to choose aggregate -> sum, and it would sum up the column in the classic table view this has disappeared or been renamed, and I have yet to figure out how to do that. The pop-up menu for calculating subitems is not clear and also does not have the option to sum the column, just tasks or projects etc. We use the column total on the bottom of the table view all the time for invoicing and expenses. The search drop-down menu was super quick and efficient now there are pop-up windows everywhere, and it feels like way more windows pop up and way more clicking to get to the information I need, and it's much more clunky to navigate through the views. The new platform doesn't fit our screens nicely information I used to see on my screen I know have to scroll over all the time. Our staff is confused we were not really told of this new platform or when it would roll out, and our staff can't find anything because it's moved or renamed - this change is costing us so much money - our staff just got used to Wrike and was starting to use it successfully, and it was finally starting to work for us, and now everyone is super frustrated and confused, and as I said this is now costing us money and time, we don't have. It is slow and keeps crashing, I'm sorry, but Lightspeed is terrible, it feels like it was prematurely launched and it still has a lot of bugs, The videos don't really help with the topics I need, the help pages are not updated they are still for the classic views, and now I have to create so many tickets to figure out how to use this and basically retrain my staff - this new platform is terrible.
Mirjana McIntyre Thank you for expressing your frustration. You are not alone. I think most users would agree with you on many of your points. I agree that this should never go live until it is thoroughly fleshed out with all of the proper layouts, functionality, and features nailed before having the entire user base get frustrated over this poor implementation.ย
I also agree with you on the issues with the new Table view, as the aggregation and other features are confusingly implemented. There are no values at the bottom of the table, like you mentioned.ย
If this helps, to change the column calculations, you have to open the Change Field Settings, and then set the Default Aggregation. What I don't understand is how is this the "default" aggregation when there doesn't seem to be any other way to set or override the aggregation. This really isn't the "default", this is the "only" aggregation setting that I know of.ย
I agree that the search has taken a step backwards. There are too many clicks and pop-ups. Use of screen space is less efficient. There isn't as much information available at a glance as there used to be. The large, 3 fields shown on an item is very limiting and inefficient.
Wrike told us that Light Speed was going to be so much faster. I think we all agree that it is actually slower! If not technically slower, it sure is methodically slower.
Hopefully they go back to the drawing board or revert to a UI that (mostly) worked. I wish they would spend all this time on actual needs (such as a real Gantt chart report that we can print and share with other contractors) and stop spending so many hours redesigning the interface again and again.
ย
The large, 3 fields shown on an item is very limiting and inefficient. - I agree with this; plus the info in those panels is not necessarily the most important for every user, which makes it even more of a wasted space.ย
Hi folks, thanks a lot for your detailed feedback, please rest assured we're passing it on to the team and making sure it is heard.
Mirjana McIntyre Thanks for elaborating! I'll share your feedback with your account team also so they can reach out to help. We are introducing more updates for the New Table view to help you navigate and use it more easily. We also published a post explaining how rollups currently work here, please check it out if you haven't yet. We've also just introduced an aggregation panel for selected cells and dates rollup, hope this is going to be helpful too. I'd also recommend enrolling to the Wrike Lightspeed training session that's happening this week, you'll also be able to get the recording of the session so that it's easier to learn the main differences between classic and new views.
Shona Snowden, in case you haven't checked out the post yet, there's an update on how our Product team is planning to evolve the Item View. Hope it's helpful!ย
