User filter in Timeline view

As a team manager, I want to quickly switch between every team member to have an overview of their load and dependencies between tasks. I would like to have the possibility to keep the members of a group available for selection. Right now I always need to click the + button and search for their name…and once I move around in Wrike and come back in the Timeline, I need to start over again..!

I know that the workload view lets us see a lot of users at the same time, but I can't manage the dependencies so every tasks are lined up one after the other, and most titles are cropped!

Hi Pier-Luc! It sounds like you want to use the Timeline View, but only see tasks with specific assignees? I think you may already be using filters to do just that, but if you're not, those are a good option to check out. If you are using filters I think that you want those filters to stay in place as you switch between views?

From what I understand, you're alomst right on your last point : “If you are using filters I think that you want those filters to stay in place as you switch between views?”. I already saw a comment on another thread about filters to stick between different views (like switching from Timeline to List), but that's not quite my point here...if this is what you meant!

I am using filters to see everyone’s tasks individually, and while I stay in Timeline, I switch from user to user to see everyone's load and capacity. My problem is that I must always search for my team members everytime I come back to Timeline instead of having them in quick selection permanently (such as Myself and Unassigned, see image below). If I could edit the permanent choices, I would either :

  • put a drop-down list that shows the members of a specific group
  • add specific users in addition to Myself and Unassigned

The "+ Other" would then be used only for rare occasions or exceptions.

I hope this helped to clear the situation! 😉
