Dynamic Forms: Mapping to Multiple Destinations

My company has been using the wrike API's to link wrike projects with projects in our ERP.  This requires certain custom fields to be populated with information from the form.

Dynamic forms in its current state allows for mapping of answers to custome fields, titles, or descriptions.  There are a few answers which not only provide linkage, but are used in project titles and possibly in the description too.

In these cases it would be ideal for the form to allow the answer to be mapped to multiple destinations.

The user, of course, can enter the same information in to the required custom fields after the form has been completed, but this introduces the risk of

  • Required custom fields not being entered.
  • Keying mistakes from entering redundant data.

Our specific use case may not be the majority, but I feel that the multiple mapping would benifit groups who would like to provide more granular reporting and also include the same in titles and descriptions.

I agree, we would like to be able to map to at least two different locations: custom fields and title or description.

Hi David and Laura, I can definitely see how mapping to multiple locations could be very useful for certain processing. Thanks for sharing this here 🙂

That's exactly what we would need for our daily work. Putting the values of custom fields in the title and/or description would make life much easier just from an organization point of view. People could easily find tasks just ba looking at the title containing the searched reference ID for example.

This is what I was looking for as well. It would be beneficial to map an field to a custom field and the title as well. Another feature that may work for others as well is the title of the project/task from a request form could be a heading from the request form page. When using dynamic request forms, the project name could change based on the pages in the form.

@Jennifer I love the idea of using Request form headings for task titles (I'm a huge fan of naming conventions and that would help with implementing them)! Could you help explain a little more about Project name changing based on pages in the form? Not sure I'm getting that one.

And because it's almost Valentine's day...

Any updates on this functionality? This is a much needed enhancement for my organization.

As noted above, this is a necessary option to keep task titles organized while still mapping to custom fields.

This would also be beneficial to our organization, as we are needing to map certain information to both the title of tasks that are requested as well as custom fields for reporting purposes.

This would be hugely helpful.  I'm currently having to choose between items which is causing a lot of manual inputting which I would LOVE to limit.

Hey guys, thanks for bumping this thread! I have no update currently; please make sure to +1 the original suggestion if you haven't already. I'll get back to you if/when there's an update.

I would REALLY like if I could map data to a custom field AND have it flow into the description (as it does if you do not map the custom field).
